Producers Erin Fogarty and Daniel Ulbricht have partnered with the American Cancer Society to present the fourth annual Dance Against Cancer on Monday, May 5, 2014 with cocktails at 6pm (VIP ticket only), followed by a performance at 7pm, and a post-show reception at the AXA Equitable Theater, 787 Seventh Avenue (between 51st and 52nd Streets), NYC. Tickets are $150 ($300 for VIP) and are available at www.dacny.org.

American Ballet Theatre's 2014 season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 12-July 5, will be highlighted by the Company Premiere of Frederick Ashton's Cinderella and a Shakespeare Celebration to include Ashton's The Dream and Alexei Ratmansky's The Tempest. Season revivals include Leonide Massine's Gaite Parisienne and Kenneth MacMillan's Manon. Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) will present "The Making of an Artist" moderated by Barbara Brandt on Monday January 27 at 6:30pm at New York City Center Studios, Studio 5 (130 West 56th Street, NYC). American Ballet Theatre's Marcelo Gomes will create new choreography on renowned ABT dancers Misty Copeland and James Whiteside live. Through discussion and demonstration, their creative evolution will unfold. YAGP founding Board Chair, Barbara Brandt says, "I want to give the audience an opportunity to join the dancers and choreographer, in the studio, as we explore the question, "What is an artist?" The evening will conclude with an informal reception.

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) held its annual Opening Night Fall Gala benefit last night at the David H. Koch Theatre, hosting over 700 patrons, sponsors, supporters, friends, alumni and members of the Board of Trustees. ABT's inaugural season at the David H. Koch Theatre marks the Company's first return to the venue since 1976. The gala, which serves as the opening of ABT's fall season at the Koch Theatre, raised $1.65 million dollars and a portion of the proceeds will support ABT's education and community outreach programs.

The 312 seat main house is an exciting alternative to the West End, staging a varied programme of quality plays and musicals and featuring excellent sightlines from every seat. The intimate studio space incorporates the very best of both established and emerging talent in the worlds of cabaret, music, comedy and theatre. The informal bar and brasserie on the ground floor, and the elegant Carrara restaurant on the first floor cater for all pre and post-theatre tastes. Earlier this month, the St. James Theatre was one of only seven theatres shortlisted for the My Theatre Matters! Most Welcoming Theatre Award out of over 225 theatre venues across the country.
