The Kennedy Center Honors announced today that its honorees for 2016 will be Argentine pianist Martha Argerich, rock band the Eagles, screen and stage actor Al Pacino, gospel and blues singer Mavis Staples and musician James Taylor.

The Kennedy Center today announced Bob Saget as Roastmaster in The District of Comedy Roast of James Carville to be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall. Regarding his role in the event, Saget stated "I cannot tell you how excited I am to be the host of the James Carville roast. I am equally excited to find out who he is." Saget takes over as Roastmaster for Lewis Black, who will no longer be able to participate in the event due to unforeseen changes in his professional schedule.

History Theatre presents the regional premiere of a new musical about the lives and works of St. Paul's original "it" couple, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. As glittering emblems of the Jazz Age, their romance reflected the era during which they lived: highs and lows, boom and bust, a thrilling rise and a devastating crash. This Side of Paradise, which premiered off-Broadway in 2010, is seen from the point of view of Zelda at the age of 39, looking back on her life with Scott using music and dance to capture both the joy of their romance and their struggles for artistic identity and fame. The new Broadway musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson will play its final performance at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street) today, December 9 at 3 p.m.

Kathie Lee Gifford discussed the closing of her new Broadway musical SCANDALOUS on the Today show on NBC. 'So many of the brand new shows this fall really, really have struggled and are posting closings,' she lamented.
