Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents Jon Klein's howlingly funny Bunnicula, based on the successful book series by James and Deborah Howe. Directed by Ensemble Company member Matt Lee who shares one reason for his love of directing for kids, "Theatre is a unique opportunity to directly engage our youth in the art of storytelling.  I am thrilled to be bringing one of my favorite children's books to life onstage for families to enjoy." The play will run at MET for four weeks beginning September 24.       

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present the New Jersey Premiere of Sharyn Rothstein's Off-Broadway hit By the Water from July 16th through August 2nd in the Zella Fry Theatre. In this moving new play directed by Adam Immerwahr, Hurricane Sandy wields its force upon the home of Marty and Mary Murphy, threatening to destroy not only the life they have built together but the neighborhood they grew up in. Will Marty manage to save his neighborhood and his home, or are the secrets unearthed by the storm too powerful to overcome? Described by The New York Times as 'drawn with acute sympathy and in gritty detail," this gripping and affecting play will feature actors Damian Buzzerio, Mike DiSalvo, Billy Finn, Deanna McGovern, Brian O'Neill, Sheila Stasack and Jo Twiss.

Premiere Stages will celebrate its 11th Anniversary as Kean University's professional Equity theatre with a dynamic lineup of events, featuring a season of topical plays that focus on people of the region, both past and present. Enhanced by award-winning premieres, engaging musical presentations for young audiences, captivating summer camps for middle-school and high-school students, and collaborations with like-minded organizations both on and off campus, the 2015 season promises to be the most successful to date. In describing the season, John J. Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT), the Midlands' only professional theatre for families and young audiences will present the hilarious musical adaptation of Deborah and James Howe's popular book Bunnicula Feb. 20 - March 1.

Children will delight to see many of the characters from juvenile fiction books "live and in person" when The Alden in McLean's McLean Kids Series continues with "Fly Guy & Other Stories" on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for McLean tax district residents. The Alden is located inside the McLean Community Center, at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport has announced the opening of the musical adaptation of the popular and beloved children's book - Bunnicula (book by Deborah and James Howe, stage adaption by Jon Klein and music by Chris Jeffries). Bunnicula is part of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Youth Theater Series and will run September 28th through November 3rd.

The original cast recording, produced by Yellow Sound Label, is just as quirky and hysterical as one would expect of the adaption of the beloved children's novel.
