Columbia Children's Theatre Offers Ticket Discounts for 2014-15 Season, Featuring Pirates, Rabbits and More!

By:

Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) is gearing up for it's 10th season of engaging, professional live theatre for families and young audiences across South Carolina. For a limited time, the organization is offering discounted season "flex passes" that can be used to secure tickets throughout the season, saving money for patrons in the process.

How flex passes work:

Patrons can visit www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com through September 30 to purchase a flex pass valid for 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 admissions. Flex pass prices reflect a substantial discount from purchasing individual tickets throughout the season, allowing purchasers to save up to 25 percent. Each pass is assigned a code that can be redeemed for tickets to individual productions through the organization's web site or over the phone. Flex passes may be redeemed in any combination for any Columbia Children's Theatre MainStage or YouTheatre production through August 2015. As patrons redeem seats on their pass, CCT's box office system will automatically keep track of the number of seats that remain.

"We have a lot of families that enjoy coming to several shows throughout the year," said CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson. "By purchasing a block of tickets at the beginning of the season, they can save significant money and still maintain flexibility throughout the year; there's no need to decided which performances they want to attend this far in advance."

2014-15 Season Productions:

CCT's Mainstage features professional adult actors bringing literature to life in engaging and interactive musical productions. MainStage shows this season include:

  • How I Became a Pirate, based on the beloved book by SC Author Melinda Long

  • Jack Frost, a world premiere musical by local theatre artists Crystal Aldamuy (book & lyrics) and Paul Lindley II (music)

  • Bunnicula, based on the book by Deborah & James Howe, and featuring CCT Artistic Director in a rare on-stage performance

  • SkippyJon Jones in Cirque de Olé, a new musical based on the books by Judy Schachner

  • Br'er Rabbit, a collaboration with the NiA Company that brings treasured folk tales to life through comedy, music, drumming, and song

CCT's YouTheatre productions feature young actors in grades 1-12. Many of their productions are adaptations of popular and classic Broadway musicals. This season our youth will present:

  • The Trial of the Big, Bad Wolf and Winnie the Pooh Kids, both with actors in grades 1-6

  • Guys and Dolls Jr. and Hairspray Jr., both with actors in grades 6-12
