Behind every devilishly good-looking spy is a strong, frumpy woman. Behind the debonair and conceited Bradley Fine (Jude Law) is dowdy desk jockey cum CIA analyst Susan Cooper (McCarthy). Cooper is so smitten and preoccupied with the fantasy version of Fine in her head that she can't see how daft and self-involved he is. Nor can she see how smart and caring she is.

Legendary trumpet-and-voice duo Herb Alpert and Lani Hall bring their unique mix of jazz, world and American pop music to Pacific Symphony for the final concert of the 2014-15 Pops Series. Joining musical forces in 2006, each half of this musical power couple brings an impressive résumé to the table. As a solo artist and leader of the Tijuana Brass, Alpert has sold more than 72 million records and placed 28 albums on the Billboard charts, including five at No. 1. His 2014 album, “Steppin' Out,” earned him his ninth Grammy Award, and in 2013, he was honored with the National Medal of Arts. His wife and music partner, Hall, rose to fame in 1966 as the lead singer of Sergio Mendes' group, Brasil '66. The two met and became friends when Brasil '66 was signed to A&M records by its co-founder, Alpert. Hall has the distinction of recording more than 22 albums in three different languages, four alongside her husband, and she earned a Grammy for her album, “Es Facil Amar.”

Steppenwolf Extends THE HERD

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today the extension of The Herd, the debut play of Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear currently playing to critical acclaim in its U.S. premiere production in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. In a four-star review, the Chicago Tribune raves, 'A family drama that sticks with you...this is Steppenwolf acting at its best' and The New York Times says, 'a buoyantly entertaining play [that] breathes with real, complicated life.' Directed by ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati, The Herd adds six additional performances, extending the run through June 14, 2015 with the original cast. New Yiddish Rep to Present Wolf Mankowitz Double Bill

New Yiddish Rep presents two one-act plays by the fascinating English-born polyglot Wolf Mankowitz -- both of which were also made into noteworthy British films -- "The Irish Hebrew Lesson," and the world premiere in Yiddish of "The Bespoke Overcoat." A theatrical feast in three languages, New Yiddish Rep's Mankowitz double bill, entitled "2 by Wolf," runs from June 11 to July 2 at the cell, 338 West 23rd Street. Moshe Yassur, the internationally acclaimed director of New Yiddish Rep's groundbreaking "Waiting for Godot" in Yiddish, will direct.
