Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) will present Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming world premiere of Outside Mullingar, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. OUTSIDE MULLINGAR will run at MTC's Samuel J. FriedmanTheatre (261 West 47th Street) with previews beginning Friday, January 3, 2014 for a Thursday, January 23, 2014 opening night. Deadline.com reports that Bobby Cannavale will be joining the new ANNIE film remake, alongside Quvenzhane Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Rose Byrne. Cannavale will play a political advisor for Foxx's character, who is running for mayor of New York.

The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) presents its 23rd Annual Simply Shakespeare benefit reading of 'The Two Gentlemen of Verona,' September 25, 2013 at The Broad Stage, Santa Monica. The evening will feature a star-studded cast including Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and William Shatner. Additional participants will be announced. Simply Shakespeare features a hilarious and entertaining evening of impromptu Shakespeare and song. All proceeds from the event support the SCLA and its arts based veterans employment and youth employment programs for inner-city youth and arts education in local schools.

The Pasadena Playhouse, announced today that it would present the One Pearl and a Sphinx production of LETTERS FROM ZORA which will play a five performance, limited engagement starring Vanessa Bell Calloway. LETTERS FROM ZORA, written by Gabrielle Pina, directed by Anita Dashielle-Sparks with live music composed by Ron McCurdy is scheduled to play from August 15 - 18, 2013, with a press opening night on August 15 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for all performances.
Red Branch Theatre Co. Launches New Summer Cabaret Series Tonight

Red Branch Theatre Company will hold its first series of one-night only cabaret performances this summer at Drama Learning Center in Columbia, MD. Each cabaret will consist of a solo or group headliner that regales audiences with a themed evening of songs and stories in a cabaret setting. Food and beverage will be available for sale before the show each night and during intermission. A cash bar will also be available for select performances.

Devron T. Young will open the summer cabaret series on July 13th with his musical evening entitled 'One Night Only.' The cabaret loosely chronicles pivotal moments in the performer's life through song and spoken word. Red Branch Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes will accompany Mr. Young on the keyboard, and surprise special guests will join him on stage for select numbers. The program includes, but is not limited to songs such as 'Maybe' from Annie, 'God Bless the Child,' 'Memories of You' by Eubie Blake, 'Family' and 'One Night Only' from Dreamgirls, and many more.
