On July 9, Ben Vereen (Pippin, Fosse) hosted the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival opening night gala celebrating the season kick off. On hand to show support for the famed fest, which opened last night and runs through July 29, were Corbin Bleu ("High School Musical"), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Dreamgirls, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Leslie Krtizer (A Catered Affair), Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys), Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar), Jack Noseworthy (Sweet Smell of Success), Tom Deckman (Spamalot), Anika Larsen (Xanadu), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie and Clyde), and many more. As previously announced, Jeremy Kushnier (Jesus Christ Superstar, Footloose), Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Brooklyn), Rachel York (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Victor/Victoria) and Jack Noseworthy (A Chorus Line, Sweet Smell of Success) lead the cast of New York Musical Theater Festival's 'Stealing Time,' the latest work of writers/composers Tor Hyams and Lisa Neubauer. 'Stealing Time' will play as a special event in the 2012 New York Musical Theater Festival at the PTC Performance Space. 'Stealing Time' is the second NYMF project for Hyams coming off the success of 'Greenwood' starring Andrea McArdle in the 2011 New York Musical Theater Festival. Feinstein's at Loews Regency is currently hosting Scott Siegel's BROADWAY HOOTENANNY, which features different stars performing different songs every Thursday night at 11pm. Created, produced and hosted by Scott Siegel, the show features musical direction by Jesse Kissel. Now approaching its third week, casts have included Larry Gatlin, William Michals, Jon Fletcher, Claybourne Elder, Jamie deRoy, Courtney Simmons and Paul Pontrelli. It was just announced today that the next installment will feature Alice Ripley (Next To Normal), Joan Almedilla (Miss Saigon), Drama Desk Nominee Christina Bianco (Forbidden Broadway, Newsical: The Musical), and more.

It was announced today that the cast for the second week of Scott Siegel's BROADWAY HOOTENANNY will be Country Superstar Larry Gatlin (Will Rogers Follies), William Michals (Emile de Beque in Lincoln Center's production of South Pacific), Jon Fletcher (Bonnie & Clyde), and MORE! The new musical Peter & I opens tonight, October 6 at the Chernuchin Theater at the American Theater of Actors as part of The Araca Project, a new program created by The Araca Group to support emerging theatre artists. The production will run through October 16, 2011.
