Williamston Theatre Receives Shubert Foundation Grant

The Williamston Theatre has announced that the The Shubert Foundation has awarded the Williamston Theatre with a $15,000 Theatre Grant. This is the second year that the Foundation has provided support for the Williamston Theatre.

Earlier this week, SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL hosted the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools at the Winter Garden Theatre. Alex Brightman emceed the event, which featured five outstanding high school student productions from the 2015-2016 school year. School of Rock - The Musical will host the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools on Monday, March 7 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre. Alex Brightman, star of School of Rock - The Musical, will emcee the event, Chancellor Carmen Farina, of the New York City Department of Education, will welcome the crowd and introduce the Shubert Organization's Chairman Philip J. Smith and President Robert E. Wankel. Shubert Foundation President Michael I. Sovern will introduce Brightman.

The second annual Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools will take place Monday, March 7 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway at West 51st Street) at 7 p.m. More than 100 talented students from five select New York City high schools will make their Broadway debuts performing excerpts from their winter productions.

Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP) has announced a $20,000 grant award from the Shubert Foundation. This grant is used for General Operating Support for the 2015-2016 season, and marks the fifth consecutive year it has been awarded to The REP. The Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have established artistic and administrative track records, as well as a pattern of fiscal responsibility.

Shubert Foundation Distribute Record $22.5 Million in 2014 Grants

The Shubert Foundation awarded a record total of $22.5 million to 470 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The 2014 grants mark the 32nd year in a row that the Foundation's giving has increased.
