Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce the World Premiere of Low Down Dirty Blues, by Randal Myler and Dan Wheetman, the creators of It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and Fire on the Mountain. The production will feature Tony Award nominee Felicia P. Fields (The Color Purple) in her first role in Chicago since The Color Purple and two-time Jeff Award-winner Mississippi Charles Bevel. The production will be directed by Randal Myler with musical direction by Dan Wheetman. Low Down Dirty Blues runs May 27 - July 3, 2010 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is Saturday, June 5, 2010.

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

NY Philharmonic's Next Young People's Concert Takes the Stage, 3/27

New York Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Daniel Boico will lead the Orchestra in an exploration of Mozart's Symphony No. 41, Jupiter, on the season's final Young People's Concert (YPC), Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The YPC theme in 2009-10 is 'Points of Entry,' with each concert taking a single great work as a window into how music is created and how an orchestra brings it to life. Philharmonic Director of Education Theodore Wiprud will host the concert, which is written and directed by Tom Dulack.
