Liev Schreiber to Narrate PBS's Global Series CIVILIZATIONS

Today at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, PBS announced that acclaimed film, theater and television actor Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan, Spotlight, The Manchurian Candidate) will narrate its series, which tells the story of art from the dawn of human history to the present day - for the first time on a global scale.

The 2018 SaraSolo Festival, the fourth celebration of theatre and solo artists returns to Sarasota over two weekends, January 27 & 28 and February 3 & 4, 2018. This annual showcases an eclectic mix of 45-90 minute solo performances by 19 national and international artists featuring music, dance, cabaret, comedy, magic, poetry, performance art, stand-up, storytelling and visual art creation as well as biographical, autobiographical and poetic plays.

Miami Dade College's (MDC) acclaimed Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) will present The Transformations Suite, a genre-defying musical tour de force by the rising young composer and pianist Samora Pinderhughes. The Transformations Suite, performed by Pinderhughes and a small jazz ensemble, combines words and music to paint a picture of America today tragic and indicting, but ultimately, hopeful. The Transformations Suite will have one performance at the Miami Light Project at The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse, Friday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College (MOAD MDC) will present I Will Have a Conversation About Any Subject/Converso Sobre Cualquier Asunto, a participatory public performance by the celebrated Brazilian artist and scholar Eleonora Fabi o. This captivating gesture of social interaction and concern, and will take place at sites in the Calle Ocho District on Monday, Jan. 22, Downtown Miami on Tuesday, Jan. 23, and South Beach on Wednesday, Jan. 24. I Will Have a Conversation About Any Subject/Converso Sobre Cualquier Asunto is part of a weeklong program the artist has designated Triptych Miami. It will also feature a lecture-performance at the New World School for the Arts on Thursday, Jan. 25, a workshop with students, and a concluding nighttime performance with the workshop participants on the streets of Downtown Miami on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The Canadian Opera Company Orchestra Academy welcomes five student musicians to join its fifth annual training intensive, taking place January 7 26, 2018. Led by COC Music Director Johannes Debus, and in collaboration with The Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Schulich School of Music at McGill University and the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, the program offers its student musicians one-on-one mentorship and practical experience in their pursuit of a career in an opera orchestra.

Full Casting Announced For The World Premiere Of Howard Brenton's THE SHADOW FACTORY

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Samuel Hodges, today announces the full cast for the company's inaugural production at NST City the world premi re of Howard Brenton's The Shadow Factory, which Hodges directs. Veteran of stage and screen Anita Dobson joins the cast as Lady Cooper/Ma (Wicked, Apollo Victoria Theatre; The Merry Wives of Windsor, RSC; Frozen, National Theatre) along with Shala Nyx who plays Polly. Dobson, known for playing the iconic role of Angie Watts in EastEnders, and Nyx join David Birrell (Fred/Hugh), Catherine Cusack (Lil/Sylvia), Lorna Fitzgerald (Jackie Dimmock), Hilton McRae (Lord Beaverbrook) and Daniel York (Len Gooch) to complete the company. The Shadow Factory opens on 15 February, with previews from 7 February, and runs until 3 March.
