Renowned conductor Gerard Schwarz and his hand-picked team of 'all-star' classical musicians from across the United States come together to form a new made-for-television concert series.All-Star Orchestra premieres nationwide in September on public television (check local listings), and airs in New York today, September 8, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN and continues for seven consecutive weeks. Maestro Schwarz has taken a page from Major League Baseball's playbook, creating a team of the finest orchestral athletes from top orchestras in the United States. This year's Ars Electronica Festival is set for today, September 5-9 in Linz. The title is TOTAL RECALL - The Evolution of Memory. The festival program will consist, as always, of a splendid array of symposia, exhibitions, performances, interventions and concerts; the details will be announced online at www.aec.at/totalrecall/en.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra presents Seductive Ravel on September 27-28, 2013, led by guest conductor Roberto Abbado. The performances open with Stravinsky's Violin Concerto in D major featuring violinist Augustin Hadelich, followed by Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus directed by Lee Erickson. Both concerts include Meet the Music, an interactive pre-concert discussion beginning one hour prior to concert start time in the Anello Atrium.

'All-Star Orchestra' will premiere Sundays at 12:30pm on THIRTEEN and at 3:30pm on WLIW21 beginning September 8. On NJTV, the series premieres Sunday, September 8 at 6pm, and resumes on Sunday, October 6.

This September, October and November, The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) will present Just Words: A Spoken Word Celebration, a series of groundbreaking performances by masters of language and celebrated spoken word organizations including renowned story-telling institution The Moth (on September 6), celebrated improv duo TJ & Dave (on October 11), and StarTalk Live! The premiere of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps and the ensuing riot in response to its revolutionary sound and Vaslav Nijinsky's radical choreography has become music and dance legend. Since that fateful night in 1913, this innovative piece of music has inspired countless composers and choreographers. These four powerful works by Russian choreographers and composers are presented in four performances only in the Joffrey's home venue, the historic Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago at 50 E. Congress Parkway, September 19 - 22.

'Stravinsky Re-invented: From Paris to Los Angeles,' the second and final weekend of the 24th annual Bard Music Festival in New York'sAnnandale-on-Hudson, follows Igor Stravinsky from Europe to post-war Hollywood, investigating his subsequent shift in style from neoclassicism to serialism. The weekend opens tonight, August 16, with a screening of film clips that document the great Russian innovator, with commentary by Professor Charles M. Joseph, author of Stravinsky Inside Out. This special session is followed by the weekend's first concert, 'Against Interpretation and Expression: The Aesthetics of Mechanization,' a program of postmodernist ensemble classics by Stravinsky, Bartók, Varèse, Hindemith, and Messiaen; soloists include Grammy-nominated pianist Peter Serkin and So Percussion's Eric Beach.
