Lincoln Center Theater presents Betsy Aidem, Blair Brown, Michael Cerveris, Anthony Cochrane, Lauren Culpepper, Alvin Epstein, Kathryn Erbe, John Glover, Jennifer B. Grace, Katie Kreisler, Stephen Kunken, Haviland Morris, Dale Place, John Procaccino, Gareth Saxe and Alan Schmuckler in the 18-member cast of its upcoming world premiere production of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson. The play, which was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, is directed by David Cromer and opens Monday, May 6. Check out photos of the cast in action below!

NAKED ANGELS Announces Liz Carlson as New Artistic Director

Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company that recently partnered with the New School for Drama under the leadership of Naked Angels founding company member Pippin Parker, is pleased to announce that New School alumna Liz Carlson will assume the role of Artistic Director of Naked Angels beginning May 1, 2013, further enhancing the relationship between the two companies. Current Artistic Director Andy Donald, who succeeded Geoffrey Nauffts in July 2011 after two years as Associate Artistic Director, departs the company for a new position as a creative producer at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small. Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

Koussevitzky Foundations Announce Commission Winners

The Serge Koussevitzky Music Foundation in the Library of Congress and the Koussevitzky Music Foundation, Inc., have awarded commissions for new musical works to five composers. Jointly granting the commissions are the foundations and the performing organizations that will present the newly composed works.

In a sweeping gesture of gratitude to its home city, Boston Ballet will present the first-ever Night of Stars gala on Boston Common - a free performance for the greater-Boston community. Programming includes an astounding range of works, featuring stunning classics La Bayadere and Cinderella, two cutting-edge repertory programs containing American and world premieres, and Balanchine's masterpiece, Jewels. Bringing the season to a triumphant close, Boston Ballet will tour to the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and end with performances at the Koch Theater in New York City's Lincoln Center.

Alexander Kasser Theater Welcomes 'The Grand Gesture,' 4/13

In 1913, the Theatre des Champs-Elysees was the scene of one of the most infamous theatrical riots of the 20th Century. The cause? A revolution in music, namely the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's primal "Le sacre du printemps," or, "The Rite of Spring." The work will be given something of a rewrite when pianists Sarah Rothenberg and Marilyn Nonken present the Stravinsky classic for two pianos in a program entitled "The Grand Gesture" on April 13 at 8pm at the Alexander Kasser Theater in Montclair, NJ. The concert, which also includes Olivier Messiaen's equally uproarious 'Visions de l'Amen' (1946), is a Peak Performances presentation.

Verb Ballets returns to Cleveland Public Theatre as part of the DanceWorks '13 Series with two different programs. Verb Ballets is pleased to announce they will kick off the series with an additional program added to the season: Verb Goes Electric with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, running March 21- 23, 2013. The company will close out the contemporary dance showcase with a modern rendition of The Rite of Spring running April 18-20, 2013. 'Verb harnesses the opportunity to create work at CPT that is adventurous and can push the boundaries of creativity. The two shows will examine the close relationship dance has to music contrasting how it has changed over the past 100 years within the development of style and its impact on contemporary dance,' said Director, Dr. Margaret Carlson.
