Iconic Canadian contemporary dancer Louise Lecavalier performs a program of physical, compelling works during a limited engagement at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival July13-16. This is a rare opportunity for audiences to see Lecavalier perform in the United States; the company will give four performances. In the U.S. premiere of the duet Children, choreographed by DV8 Physical Theatre's Nigel Charnock, Lecavalier performs with Patrick Lamothe, opening a window into a relationship at its breaking point. It seems too early in the competition for the finalists of American Idol to be so universally outstanding. Sure, last night's performances included both highs and lows, and true I'm attached to some of the competitors more than others. Quite frankly, I find it highly unusual that the top 9 are as polished as they are. Perhaps it's a reflection of the show's new mentors and/or judges?
