The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the acclaimed gay comedy/variety show - has announced its Spring 2013 season at The Duplex in New York's West Village. Each edition of The Meeting* honors a different gay icon; following the Elaine Stritch tribute in February, the rest of the season will honor Karen Carpenter (March 14), the movie 'Showgirls' (April 18) and Justin Vivian Bond (May 16). Special guests will be announced soon. After a sell-out year, The Meeting* will add a second performance each month due to popular demand; there are now shows at 7:000 PM and 9:30 PM.

The 28th Annual Bistro Awards gala, set to take place on Monday, March 4, has announced some of its main presenters. Unlike most other awards show, the Bistro Awards is an evening filled with great performances from the winners - stars as well as talented newcomers - who represent a wide variety of styles from the worlds of cabaret, comedy, and jazz.

JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND will kick off a six-date solo residency at Joe's Pub at The Public with the new premiere MX AMERICA in which V explores the 'ways of seeing and being seen' as a patriot, a gender non-conformist and a cabaret artist. Ellie Covan, Founder & Artistic Director of Dixon Place, announced today that the NYC performance company ANIMALS will be awarded the First Annual Tom Murrin Performance Award on Friday, February 8th at 9pm at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). The award has been created to honor and celebrate the life and work of Tom Murrin (aka the Alien Comic) by providing a transformative career opportunity to an emerging artist, selected by a distinguished panel of producers, artistic directors and artists.

Know Theatre has announced When The Rain Stops Falling by Andrew Bovell, acclaimed Australian playwright and author of Speaking in Tongues (recently seen at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park in 2012). Time Out Magazine's Best New Play of 2010, When the Rain Stops Falling opens on February 8, 2013 and runs through March 16, 2013. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Producing Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips will direct the production, with scenic and lighting design by Andrew Hungerford, costume design by Noelle Wedig, and sound design by Doug Borntrager.
