Producers ARS Productions and Adriel Saporta have announced that Christopher Michael McFarland replaces previously announced John Ellison Conlee in the NYC premiere of SPACEBAR: A BROADWAY PLAY BY KYLE SUGARMAN, written by Michael Mitnick and directed by Maggie Burrows. Mr. Conlee had to leave the cast due to booking a recurring role in a television series.

Huntington Theatre Company Managing Director Michael Maso will receive the 2014 Hyde Square Task Force Inspiring Leader Award, to be presented on Wednesday, November 5 at the organization's Annual Making Change Happen Breakfast. The award is presented annually to an experienced and successful leader in the community who embodies the values of Hyde Square Task Force. Hyde Square Task Force (HSTF) has been working for more than two decades to develop the skills of youth and their families so they are empowered to enhance their own lives and build a strong and vibrant urban community.

Huntington Theatre Company and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) mark Ether Day today, October 16, in recognition of the 168th anniversary that ether anesthesia was first used during surgery. The groundbreaking medical advancement was achieved by dentist William T. G. Morton during a procedure performed by Dr. John C. Warren at Boston's own MGH. MGH celebrates Ether Day annually, honoring its employees for their years of service.

Lovejoy and Executive Director Veronique Le Melle on Monday, September 29 for a ribbon-cutting, rededication, and celebration in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Berkeley Repertory Theatre announces that the City of Berkeley has proclaimed Tuesday, September 30, 2014 Tony Taccone Day. This day will honor Berkeley Rep's Michael Leibert Artistic Director Tony Taccone as a pioneer in contemporary American theatre. Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates will host a ceremony to present Taccone an official proclamation between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The ceremony will be broadcast on local radio through KPFB Radio 89.3 and on television through Cable B-TV, Channel 33.

On September 29, 2014, the Huntington Theatre Company will commemorate the 10th anniversary of its Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a private rededication ceremony and celebration. The Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA is the Huntington's home for new play development and provides a much-needed resource for the local theatre community by offering a world-class facility and services at rates subsidized by the Huntington to dozens of Boston's small and mid-sized theatre companies.
