In partnership with the New York Public Library, Queens Public Library and Nassau Library systems, WNET has announced that up to 20 area libraries throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and Nassau, will host screenings of the film American Masters - MAYA ANGELOU: AND STILL I RISE.

Last night, February 16, 2017, at a special preview event for the new documentary 'American Masters -- Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise' at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (New York, NY), Dr. Maya Angelou's grandson Colin Johnson, Co-Founder and Principal of Caged Bird Legacy, LLC, presented Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Bill Clinton with a plaque of Dr. Maya Angelou's inauguration poem, 'On The Pulse of Morning,' that flew on the Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) December 5, 2014. This week on SNL, Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton (Kate McKinnon) came out of the woods to visit a US Elector and remind her of that all-important task this holiday season: keeping Donald Trump from becoming President. Inspired by the movie Love Actually, Clinton employed a series of notecards to silently go through all the reasons Trump must be stopped when the electoral college votes on December 19th. Clinton even tells the elector that she doesn't have to vote her, suggesting John Kasich, Zendaya, and Tom Hanks as worthy alternatives.

Arnold Scaasi, Canadian fashion designer who created ensembles for the rich and famous, died yesterday, August 4, 2015. He was 85. Scaasi crafted one of his most recognized, and perhaps infamous, outfits for stage and screen star Barbra Streisand. She wore it to the 1969 Academy Awards, where she won the Oscar for her performance in the film FUNNY GIRL.
