The 2013 Carbonell Nominations have been announced. The Carbonell Awards is a not-for-profit organization and is funded by tax-deductible donations and award sponsorships. Opportunities to sponsor an award category and appear on stage to announce the winner are still available.

Join us for the New-York Historical Society's inaugural Bernard and Irene Schwartz Classic Film Series, World War II and Its Legacy in Film, featuring opening remarks by notable directors, writers, actors, and historians. Produced in conjunction with New-York Historical's exhibition WWII & NYC, this selection of classic films will show a broad scope of life during and after the war and reflect many of the exhibition's themes, including life on the home front, the dispatch of troops and the struggle to readapt to postwar life.

The Los Angeles Master Chorale explores England's grand choral tradition through the ages with 'London Bridges,' an all-British program conducted by Music Director Grant Gershon featuring the music of William Byrd, Judith Weir, John Tavener and Benjamin Britten, as well as a selection of English madrigals, on Sunday, January 30, 2011, 7:00 p.m., at Disney Hall. Lesley Leighton, appointed Assistant Conductor of the chorus in July 2010, makes her Los Angeles Master Chorale conducting debut leading Hymn to St. Cecelia, one of two Britten works to be spotlighted. Organist Paul Meier is the guest artist.

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents Trader Joe's Silent Movie Mondays this June at The Paramount Theatre, Mondays at 7:00 p.m. This all classic silent film series features lovely women of the twenties and is accompanied live by Dennis James on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. The first film of this series, Flesh and the Devil will be screened for free, courtesy of Trader Joe's, STG's silent film series sponsor since 2002.
