The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced casting for the additional concerts and events surrounding their 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Today, October 22nd the Festival kicks off with The 46th Minute, a concert featuring cut songs and new material from all eight 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals selections, followed by The 2014 Songwriters Showcase on October 23rd and The Songwriters Sessions on October 23rd and 24th, all at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Michael Cassara Casting serves as the resident casting office for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, taking place on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Online Festival registration ends Friday, October 17.

'Something New', the theatre podcast that dissects what it means to be a working, multifaceted artist in America, comes to 54 Below to wrap up its second season with a special live concert. In the first of three minisodes, award-winning musical theatre writer Joel B. New discusses the development history of his song cycle, STANDALONE. Special vocal cameos by Carrie Love, David Burnham (The Light in the Piazza), Rachel Louise Thomas, Tony Yazbeck (On the Town), Dan Radzikowski, Roy Lightner, Shain Fike, Erin McCracken, and Nicole Wolf. The minisode series is a countdown to the premiere recording of STANDALONE, set to be released on Monday, July 21st.

'Something New' -- musical theatre writer Joel B. New's podcast about multifaceted artists -- will present and record New's song cycle, STANDALONE, on Sunday, June 29th in New York. The recording will be part of a two-episode special for the podcast starting on Monday, July 7th.

PAN ASIAN REPERTORY THEATRE will present a special limited run of NO-NO BOY by Ken Narasaki, directed by Ron Nakahara and based on the novel by John Okada, set in the aftermath of WWII as Japanese Americans return to the West Coast. Called 'eloquent...elegant and searing' by LA Weekly, NO-NO BOY will run from today, May 14-18, 2014 at the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street), with official opening on May 15 at 7:30PM.
