Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson (Hair) will lead the cast of the pre-Broadway North American company of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott and directed by Simon Phillips.

On May 14 and 15 the Heller Theatre will present Bertolt Brecht's The Good Woman of Setzuan. Coinciding with the opening night of the Expo 2010 Shanghai, the Sacrifice partners (producers Toby Simkin, William Ong and authors Kenneth Clarke, Richard Daniels and Mark Troop) are pleased to announce the attachment of internationally renowned stage director, Bobby Garcia to direct the musical of Sacrifice. In addition to the feature film version, the musical is in development now to open in London's West End after an Asian workshop production.

In celebration of the most powerful bond that any man and woman can share (we're looking at you heteros) world famous improv club, iO, is thrilled to announce '1, 2, Fag + Hag!' If you have doubts that this is the most powerful bond throughout history just look at Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper, Madonna and Rupert Everett, and Betsy Ross and the Founding Fathers or come to '1, 2, Fag + Hag'. Seth Dodson and Kellen Alexander of iO's long-running headlining act '1, 2, 3, Fag!' will be bringing in Chicago's top female improvisers to perform their signature improv style of intertwining scenes with bold, outrageous characters. They will also talk about shoes, dish on boys, and try to come up with a clever nickname for a male maid-of-honor. Male-of-honor? Flower Grrrrrl?

Shakespeare's Globe will take to the road again this summer for its fourth year of regional touring. This year, the Globe will revive its 2009 productions of The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night's Dream between April and September, which will exchange venues to reach new audiences.

Stage Left Theatre is proud to present LeapFest 7, Stage Left's annual new-play festival, running June 15 - July 3, 2010. LeapFest is an annual event featuring five new plays with socio-political themes, presented as workshop productions in rotating repertory. The festival is the culmination of Downstage Left, Stage Left's new-play development program, which has the goal of cultivating and supporting both emerging and established voices and of inspiring playwrights to address the political and social issues of our day.
