The 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents SEARCHING FOR ROMEO, a new musical with a retro-pop score, featuring Book, Music and Lyrics by Brian Sutton. Directed by Laura Josepher with a cast including Zal Owen ("Fiddler on the Roof"), Natalie Newman ("Grease"), and Justine Magnusson ("Whistle Down the Wind"), the world premiere will be presented as an official selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival at the PTC Performance Space (555 West 42nd Street, New York, NY) for a limited five performances on: Tuesday, July 8 at 8:00pm; Thursday, July 10 at 5:00pm; Friday, July 11 at 9:00pm; Saturday, July 12 at 5:00pm; and Sunday, July 13 at 12:00pm. Boasting a magnificent slate of actors and highly original design, Gallery's Equus is stampeding on stage tonight, December 7th. Developing a reputation for high-production value among black box theatres, the story of Alan Strang, the boy who has explosively blinded six horses, sets a new standard. Equus is quite a part of the New Gallery, not your same old theatre.

Riding the successes of Blithe Spirit and The Pajama Game, the Gallery Players presents Equus as the next production of its 47th Season. Alred Gingold* (Manhattan Theatre Club, Metropolitan Playhouse), leads the cast in the behemoth role of Martin Dysart. Joining him are Dean Thomas and Adelind Horan as Alan Strang and Jill Mason, respectively, in their Gallery premieres. Gallery alumni Rosalind Ashford* (Gallery: History Boys) and Greg Horton* (Gallery: A Man of No Importance; NYIT 2012 Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role) will appear once again as Dora and Frank Strang. After leading The History Boys to success last season, Mark Gallagher will again direct aided by Choreographer Christiana Axlesen. The production will be brought to life under Set Designer Young Jaung, Costume Designer Tony Johnson, Lighting Designer Scott Borowka, Sound Designer Jacob Subotnick, Props Designer Sara Slagle, and Production Stage Manager Kathleen Parker. The cast includes J.B. Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) announces a one-show-only concert reading of their original musical The Flood, on Saturday, October 19th at 3pm. First developed by Prospect in 2000-2001, with a subsequent full production in 2006, the book, music and lyrics of this new musical are by founding company members Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. This special encore concert presentation will raise funds to support Prospect's work developing new musicals by emerging writers. The concert is directed by Cara Reichel and music directed by Daniel Feyer.

New York Theatre Barn will release the new fully orchestrated demo recording of Small Town Story (formerly Speargrove Presents), a new musical commissioned by NYTB, in a concert sung by most of the demo cast and band at its signature new musical development platform NYTB in the D-Lounge on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City.
