Broadway veteran and Broadway Quick Change host, Robert Hartwell today announced the launch of The Broadway Dance Collective, a traveling, multi-disciplinary musical theater master class for youth.

On Thursday, Dec 31, 2015, hundreds gathered for an uptown New Year's event for the ages -- An 'Off the Kuff' New Year's Eve blowout. The star-studded soiree was hosted by nationally recognized motivational speaker and engagement expert Shaun Derik and TV/film actor and Broadway performer Ephraim Sykes (Vinyl, Leave It On the Floor, Hamilton). Broadway and Off-Broadway singers and NYC based comedians are coming together to present an evening of entertainment to raise awareness and funds for the sanctuary in CLUCKING FOR A CAUSE, an evening of music and comedy to support Tamerlaine Farm Animal Sanctuary.

The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF just opened Sunday night, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), wrapping up the 2015 Broadway season. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter.  BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony. The BROADWAY SINGS concert series will present its 10th show this February with Broadway Sings Billy Joel. A cast of 20 Broadway stars, including Corey Cott, Lilla Crawford, and Betsy Wolfe, will sing completely new arrangements of the Piano Man's greatest hits. The performers will be accompanied by a jazz orchestra playing original orchestrations. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Sara Bareilles.

THE COLOR PURPLE, which opened last night to ecstatic reviews, will record its official cast album this Monday, December 14, 2015.  The new Broadway cast recording will be released by Broadway Records on January 29, 2016and can pre-ordered at Amazon.com and at www.BroadwayRecords.com.  The album is being produced by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti.

On last night's LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, Jennifer Hudson and the cast of Broadway's THE COLOR PURPLE performed the number 'Push Da Button'.

Today, Brooks speaks exclusively with BWW and explains why making her Broadway debut in this musical revival is truly a 'full-circle moment.'

CBS has announced that on Monday, Dec. 7th,  Jennifer Hudson will appear on LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT for an interview and a performance from the Broadway production of THE COLOR PURPLE.

On this morning's GMA, THE COLOR PURPLE's Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo took to the stage with a powerful performance of the title song. Later, the actors discuss the stage adaptation of the classsic novel.

The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret, an evening of musical showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's best, benefits The Lilly Awards Foundation (Marsha Norman, President) whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater. Directed by Leigh Silverman, and with musical direction by Georgia Stitt, it was held on Monday night at The Cutting Room.
