TimesTalks, The New York Times live conversation and performance series, is proud to host a conversation between Pussy Riot's Nadya Tolokonnikova and performance artist Marina Abramovic, moderated by New York Times contributor Melena Ryzik on May 14. The artists will discuss the political aims of performance, the intersection of activism and feminism, and the role of the artist in modern society.

Kino Lorber announced today that David Ninh is joining the company as Director of Press and Publicity, beginning at Kino Lorber on April, 23, 2018. He will report to the company's Senior VP Theatrical, Non-theatrical Distribution & Acquisitions Wendy Lidell and to Company CEO Richard Lorber for corporate communications.

This weekend, TimesTalks, The New York Times live conversation and performance series, brought together an iconic group of creative and influential voices for the first TimesTalks Festival, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the prominent TimesTalks series.

Inspired by the timeless persona of Grace Jones, award-winning artist Rachael Young imagines a different future for women of colour through striking intergalactic imagery and visceral live music. Named after Grace Jones' 1981 landmark album of the same name, Nightclubbing was originally sparked by an event in 2015 when a group of young black women were racially discriminated against and refused entry to a London nightclub.

TimesTalks is pleased to present live iterations of two popular New York Times columns and a podcast at the first TimesTalks Festival, from April 13th - 15th. Corner Office, Table for Three, and The Daily podcast will be brought to life at the weekend-long festival, which will feature a wide range of panels and events at TheTimesCenter, located in the Renzo Piano-designed New York Times Building.

GRACE JONES: BLOODLIGHT AND BAMI Opens 4/13 In NYC & 4/20 In LA

The Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) today announced its full line-up, including its Centerpiece, Spotlight, Narrative Feature Competition, Independent Visions Competition, Documentary Feature Competition, Narrative, Documentary, and Short Films. The Festival also announced its five SFF Focus Panels – Sports in Cinema, Environment, Science, and Sustainability, Women's Comedic Voices, Redefining Manhood, and Musings on Musicians.

The 2018 Adelaide Festival curated by Joint Artistic Directors Neil Armfield AO and Rachel Healy still has two days to go but has already set a new record, with the biggest box office takings in the event's 58-year history, so far achieving a total box office income in excess of $4.5 million*.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced its lineup of new releases for the 2018 spring season, featuring Arnaud Desplechin's Ismael's Ghosts, Lucrecia Martel's Zama, Claire Denis's Let the Sunshine In, and an exclusive run of Hong Sang-soo's The Day After, all NYFF55 selections; plus Sophie Fiennes's intimate documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami and Carla Simón's Summer 1993, winner of the Best First Feature Award at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival. NIGHTCLUBBING is a brand-new show 'Developed With' The Lowry. It embraces Afrofuturism, the cultural aesthetic behind the blockbuster 'Black Panther,' which combines elements of science fiction, magical realism and African history.

What do Jay-Z, Kobe Bryant, Archie Bunker, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ed Koch, Bart Simpson, Bruce Campbell, Bonnie and Clyde, and J-Lo have in common?  The answer: Charles Strouse (and his hit songs)!

As the annual festival of fearless storytelling, Roundhouse Last Worst Festival returns to the Roundhouse for two and a half weeks of bold performances from established and emerging spoken word artists. Boundless Theatre and Boom Shakalaka Productions will present new songs from Parakeet - a work in development by Brigitte Aphrodite, with music and additional lyrics by Quiet Boy, directed by Laura Keefe on June 28th.

Anna Karney has been making great music for many years, performing across the US and collaborating with many talented and notable artists. She has put out several singles and EPs as a solo artist and together with her band, and will release the fifth full-length KARNEY album of original songs titled NO MERCY in stores and online March 9, 2018. Keeping her mind on social justice and positive messages, Anna Karney's lyrical content offers a sardonic and sometimes straightforward approach to many of the issues facing people today, with a message of hope resonating throughout every song she writes.

Grace Jones: Bloodlight And Bami, director and editor Sophie Fiennes' critically acclaimed documentary exploring the public and private worlds of the legendary artist, is set for theatrical release nationwide this spring, following its highly regarded debut at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival. Kino Lorber is distributing the film in the United States and Canada.

Internationally renowned actor, writer, singer, producer, and director Ray Shell comes home with the premiere of Ray Shell: Phoenix. Directed by Michael Boyd, this intimate evening of music celebrates Ray's resurrection in New York after more than 30 years on West End stages, including his breakthrough as Rusty in the original London cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express, plus starring roles in Five Guys Named Moe, Blues in the Night, The Bodyguard, The Lion King, among several productions. Cathy Porter and Amille Harris aka Street Angels NYC accompany Ray on background vocals.

On 9 January, the first day that same-sex couples can formally marry in Australia, Sydney Festival will host a giant wedding reception for Sydney to celebrate all the couples officiating their love and commitment through marriage. The reception offers the opportunity to bathe in a bright pink swimming pool, entry to dance up a storm in JOF's 10 Minute Dance Parties and the opportunity to play 'wedding singer', or belt out love songs, on the world's first Karaoke Carousel, all free of charge. The 'good time merchant', DJ Charlie Villas, will also play wedding classics all night long.
