DAMN YANKEES with a Red Sox Twist, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF & HOLIDAY INN World Premiere Set for Goodspeed's 2014 Season

Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, continues its tradition of producing exceptional, Broadway caliber musicals in 2014 with a triple play that's sure to thrill theatergoers: the devilishly funny Damn Yankees - with a Fenway twist - will run from April 11 - June 21; the uplifting and joyous Fiddler on the Roof will run from June 27 - September 7; and the World Premiere musical based on the classic film from Universal Pictures, Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn will run from September 19 - November 30, 2014.

Variety reports that Paramount's 1942 movie musical HOLIDAY INN will premiere onstage next fall at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. The musical will be produced via Universal Stage Productions -- known for its work with Broadway's Wicked, Billy Elliot, Bring It On and Porgy and Bess.

Louise Pitre's Autobiographical Musical ON THE ROCKS- STIRRED NOT SHAKEN Opens at Theatre Passe Muraille, Now thru 9/28

Louise Pitre's latest accomplishment is the completion of her one-woman show 'On the Rocks- Stirred Not Shaken.' Her show is an autobiographical musical detailing her life thus far- both the ups and the downs. Pitre, with the help of W. Joseph Matheson, wrote original songs for the show. 'On the Rocks' will run from tonight, September 25-28 at Theatre Passe Murialle.

Today's blog is brought to you by my second cup of coffee and the last tiny flecks of energy I have left after this insane tech week. The insanity and long hours though, have brought us to this, our first preview, where the world will see what we've been working on for that last five weeks. Will it be a hit for the Goodspeed? Will people find our grapes to be sour? (Grant me at least one Napa Valley pun…I'm exhausted). I have my opinions on our show, which I've mentioned at length on here, but the audience member is the one who truly decides our fate.

Big Thunder Productions will present Mercury Rising, a Benefit Concert by MSS Alums in the Big Apple, a cabaret event to be performed on Sunday, September 15th at 4pm at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The event will feature songs from new, bound-for-Broadway musicals written by up-and-coming composers and lyricists from all over the globe, including Mercury Summer Stock's own Dan Marshall, Carla Rose Fisher, and Aliyana Stewart. This benefit concert will feature Broadway's Corey Mach and Drew Aber, and over a dozen of Mercury's NYC-based professional alumni, along with special guest Marissa Rosen. The cast will feature Karen Mason as Sue. Ms. Mason has appeared in Broadway'sWonderland, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Play Me a Country Song as well as Goodspeed's Heartbeats at The Norma Terris Theatre. Opposite her as Dan will be Tony-nominated Mark Jacoby whose credits include Broadway's Elf, Sweeney Todd, Man of La Mancha, Ragtime,Showboat, Grand Hotel, The Phantom of the Opera and Sweet Charity. Mr. Jacoby performed at the Goodspeed Opera House in On The Twentieth Century.
