Spend the 4th of July weekend at America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, when its 87th Anniversary Season continues with the young ensemble Cantata Profana on Sunday, July 3rd (3PM) performing Beethoven and Schubert. Saturday, July 2 (6:30pm) brings Swingtime Big Band back for their ninth season playing the best of the Swing Era! The summer will feature 15 weekends of incredible music including returning favorite chamber ensembles and musicians (pianists Peter Serkin and Julia Hsu), first-time guests (pianist Richard Goode), the ever-popular Saturday Evening Twilight Series, featuring an array of Jazz ensembles and musicians, including the artists of the Catskill Jazz Factory, and the second season of the new Music Mountain Master Classes for Young Artists plus so much more! The plays are united by the struggles the mostly young protagonists grapple with, and by each emerging playwright's highly imaginative and poetic approach.

The internationally award-winning musical Chicago will be the Christmas show at the New Alexandra Theatre this year, it was announced today.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra performs your favorite big band hits, followed by your favorite doo-wop and rock and roll classics as sung by The Diamonds in Jukebox Junction at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8 pm. Tickets are $29 - $59.

Comedy Central/National Lampoon star Tommy Koenig's Baby Boom Baby has been called wildly entertaining, touching, and very, very funny!  It has also been called well-written, high energy, and invigorating.  Koenig will bring his one man 'musicomedy'- a flashback through our times and the music that defined them' to the Palm Beaches theatre from April 28th through May 15th.

The shootings outside of two local Jewish institutions are featured tonight in a television special series HATE IN AMERICA on the Investigation Discovery channel. 14-year-old Reat Underwood and his grandfather Dr. William Corporon were shot to death by a neo-Nazi white supremacist Frazier Glenn Miller. Kansas City resident Terri LaManno was also murdered by Miller at another location.

Jeff Macauley loves Dinah Shore. That's usually the case when a cabaret performer devotes an entire show to a star's body of work. But there's affection and admiration, and then there's all-encompassing passion and adoration that informs the performer's every note, lyric, and anecdote, and thereby imparts that love to us (whether or not we were previously fans). By that standard, MWAH! The Dinah Shore Show, Macauley's 1998 Backstage Bistro Award Winner for 'Outstanding Theme Show' (revived last Saturday night as part of Stephen Hanks' monthly New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits series at the Metropolitan Room--is one of the most successful shows of its kind I've seen.
