The Media Theatre is where you'll find the best local up and coming talent this summer in the 2015 'Vocalist' and 'Vocalist Junior' contests. Young singers from elementary school age through college and a bit beyond will entertain audiences twice per week beginning July 8 for five weeks. Media Music Theatre Company produces the event each summer.

The Media Theatre will transport young audiences to prehistoric times when it presents the new stage adaptation of 'Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark' weekends in March, April, and May as part of the award-winning Children's Series. The family-friendly musical for ages 4 and up follows the adventures of a brother and sister who discover a magical tree house that whisks them away to the land of dinosaurs.

Vicki and Chris Le Vine, along with The Broadway Dreams Foundation, presented the third annual White Christmas at Sweetwater Farm and Grace Winery (50 Sweetwater Road, Glen Mills, PA) on Sunday, December 16. The festive old-fashioned piano party and cabaret featured performances by Broadway's brightest stars and talented local BDF students. Each year hundreds of students received valuable musical theatre training through BDF programs offered in partnership with Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Theatre 20's much anticipated first production opened last night at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto. Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare, is something unique and rare: a new Canadian musical. Written by Joseph Aragon, the show was a hit at The Winnipeg Fringe where Theatre 20 Artistic Director Adam Brazier picked it up and decided to use it for Theatre 20's inaugural show. The Media Theatre held auditions for the 2012 "Delco Idol" contests on May 21 and 23. More than 150 singers participated, and now the theatre has chosen this year's contestants. The final list of contestants for "Delco Idol" and "Delco Idol Junior" is available online at www.mediatheatre.org.

The Hudson Village Theatre has announced details of its second summer offering, Back in '59, written and directed by Canadian playwright, producer, director and actor Thom Currie, playing tonight, July 11 to July 22. Since its birth last year at the Showboat Theatre Festival in Colborne, ON, the high-octane musical has been a sell-out success and now Montrealers can shake, shimmy and roll to chart toppers from the early sixties.

Media Theatre's "Delco Idol" contest begins tonight, July 11 at 7pm, with the "Junior" competition starting up Sunday July 15 at 7pm. Each continues for a total of five weeks. Five or more contestants are eliminated each week until the finals, when 20 singers will try for the 2012 title in each contest. Iron Workers Bank is the sponsor for the third summer.
