Following critically acclaimed workshop presentations, Steven Carl McCasland's plays will return to NYC in a month-long festival celebrating the young playwright. Together with The Clarion Theatre, they'll present six plays beginning on May 6th, 2015, with a company of actors performing in repertory. All of the plays focus on historical figures, including Laurette Taylor, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Rosemary Kennedy, Tennessee Williams, Gertrude Stein, Lillian Hellman and more. Opera Theatre of St. Louis' Recording of Ricky Ian Gordon's New Opera '27' Out Now

After a critically acclaimed run in St. Louis in June of 2014, composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek's opera "27" will now be available to audiences around the globe, with the release of the world premiere recording of the opera on Albany Records. Recorded live in performance throughout the run of the opera, the album is the first commercial recording of a commissioned world premiere from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

Thornton Wilder's Our Town, winner of the 1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, will be presented by the RIC Mainstage Theatre tonight, Feb. 18-22 in the Helen Forman Theatre at Rhode Island College, 600 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Show times are 7:30 p.m. (Feb. 18-21) and 2 p.m. (Feb. 21-22). Admission is $15.

The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) celebrates the completion of the first phase of its renovation and expansion in downtown Asheville with the presentation of poemumbles: 30 years of Susan Weil's poem/images. Curated by Brian E. Butler, University of North Carolina Asheville Thomas Howerton Distinguished Professor of the Humanities, and Rachael Inch, Susan Weil Studio archivist and administrator, the exhibition is on view January 30 - May 23, and is accompanied by a roster of public programs. The exhibition includes over 60 of Weil's poemumbles made between 1984 and 2014. Additionally, several of her notebooks will be on display to provide a deeper look into her artistic process.

World Premiere of Christopher Gattelli and Stephen Flaherty's IN YOUR ARMS Comes to The Old Globe This Fall

The Old Globe today announced it will open its 2015-2016 Season with In Your Arms, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). Co-conceived by Gattelli and Jennifer Manocherian, In Your Arms features 10 dance vignettes written by an incredible and diverse lineup of theatre powerhouses, including Douglas Carter Beane, Nilo Cruz, Christopher Durang, Carrie Fisher, David Henry Hwang, Rajiv Joseph, Terrence McNally, Marsha Norman, Lynn Nottage, and Alfred Uhry.
