The Second City Hollywood is proud to announce the first annual Diversity in Comedy Festival occurring October 21, 22, and 23, 2016 in Los Angeles, located at 6560 Hollywood Blvd. 90028.

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) will honor four Chicago artists and arts advocates and one iconic cultural institution at the 3rd annual Fifth Star Awards presented by Allstate Insurance Company on Wednesday, September 14 at 7pm-at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.

Second City Hollywood is very proud of the diverse work in our community and this particular offering by Writer/Director, Dwayne Colbert, is something special.

The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatremakers of diverse cultural backgrounds, is holding the Launch Party for its annual Strawberry One-Act and Theatre Festival on Saturday, June 25, 2016, 3pm at the Poet's Den Theatre (309 East 108th Street, NYC). The evening will include the presentation of 2016 Pioneer of the Arts Award For Outstanding Achievement In Television and Theatre to the Emmy-winning stage, film and TV actor Joe Morton, Tony Nominee and eight time AUDELCO Award winner, Andre De Shields, the acclaimed Broadway and television actress Barbara Montgomery, and multiple Grammy Award winner, Broadway musical director and arranger Chapman Roberts. A reception with food, drinks and dancing will follow. N'Kenge, symphony siren and Broadway Diva (Motown: The Musical and Sondheim on Sondheim), is back with Master Pops conductor Jack Everly in "HairSpray : In Concert" at the Baltimore Symphony, Thursday-June 2,2016- 8pm at the Strathmore Theatre, Friday-June 3rd,2016-8pm at the Meyeroff Theatre, Saturday June 4th- 3pm and 8pm at the Meyerhoff, and Sunday-June 5th, 2016- 3pm at the Meyerhoff Hall.

A new series of professionally shot web videos promoting Chicago's neighborhood theater scene is debuting online today, the work of a new non-profit named Friends of Chicago's Neighborhood Theatres. The group's plan is to release one You Tube video every two to three months as part of a new viral marketing campaign promoting Chicago theater titled 'A City of Stories.'

Judson Theatre Company (Morgan Sills, Executive Producer and Daniel Haley, Artistic Director) has announced the stars of their Fifth Anniversary Season: John Davidson in On Golden Pond and John Wesley Shipp in Twelve Angry Men. On Golden Pond opens Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 7:00 pm and runs through Sunday, March 27. Twelve Angry Men opens Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm and runs through Sunday, September 25. Judson Theatre Company performs exclusively at Owens Auditorium, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.

ABC Family gives fans of Woody, Mike and the rest of the Disney•Pixar gang a big dose of the warm fuzzies with its yearly "Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas" programming celebration, airing Sunday, November 22 - Monday, November 30. ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016.

Evans, announces five additional performances for the World Premiere of Bruce Graham's Funnyman, directed by BJ Jones.  Due to demand, the production has been extended through October 25, 2015, at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.
