The Second City Hollywood is proud to announce the first annual Diversity in Comedy Festival occurring October 21, 22, and 23, 2016 in Los Angeles, located at 6560 Hollywood Blvd. 90028.

The goal of this festival is to offer a platform for celebrating the unique points of view that come from diverse talent in Los Angeles and beyond. This festival will offer performers of diverse backgrounds an opportunity to explore issues across race, gender, and sexual identity through performances, panels, and workshops. The NBCUniversal Second City Emerging Voices Scholarship Award will be announced during the festival.

Anyone wishing to apply to participate in the festival can do so at www.ladiversityfestival.com, and the festival schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Second City Outreach program is an ongoing commitment to expose the improv art form to new voices, under-served communities and talent seeking careers at Second City. Our goal is to open doors, create a bridge and make this work accessible and inclusive. We believe everyone, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation should experience the gift of improv.

Celebrating over 57 years of cutting edge satiric revues, The Second City continues to deliver the leading voices in comedy while touring the globe. Today, The Second City Training Center is the largest school of improvisation and sketch comedy in the world.

Our alumni list reads like a who's who of American comedy, as it includes: Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, RoBert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Bonnie Hunt, Ryan Stiles, Jack McBrayer, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, and countless others. Los Angeles is the world capital of the Entertainment Industry and The Second City Hollywood is in the heart of it on Hollywood Boulevard. The Training Center follows the traditions developed by these groundbreaking and innovative men and women while encouraging the continued growth and development of the art forms of comedy and improvisation.
