April 29, 2015 - Richmond, Virginia Join everyone's favorite "Wascally Wabbit" and his friends Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Pepe Le Pew, Tweety, Sylvester and more today, May 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Richmond CenterStage's Altria Theater. Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II celebrates the world's favorite classic Looney Tunes, projected on the big screen, while the Richmond Symphony performs their exhilarating, original Carl Stalling scores live.

The New York Philharmonic and Warner Bros. will present Bugs Bunny at the Symphony, a program celebrating classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons with the New York Philharmonic playing the music live while the animation is screened. Emmy Award winner George Daugherty will conduct in his Philharmonic debut, and Academy Award winner and New York Philharmonic Board Member Whoopi Goldberg will appear as a special guest. The concerts take place tonight, May 15, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Celebrating its 13th season, the Ensemble of the Romantic Century (ERC) presents Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart at The Fishman Space in the new BAM Fisher. A fully staged theatrical concert blending striking music, powerful language and biography, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart delves into the unconventional 16-year long relationship between one of the great composers of the 19th century and his patroness, Madame von Meck. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this evening-length production seamlessly interweaves a dramatic script performed by actor Simon Fortin (Tchaikovsky) and actress Ariel Bock (Madame von Meck) of Shakespeare & Company with live chamber and vocal music performed by violinist Rachel Lee Priday, cellist Adrian Daurov, pianist Eve Wolf and tenor Blake Friedman. Featuring some of Tchaikovsky's epic pieces including Piano Trio in A Minor, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart represents some of the composer's balletic works through dance both choreographed and performed by American Ballet Theatre dancer Daniel Mantei.

Ballet San Jose will present choreographer Karen Gabay's staging of the holiday classic The Nutcracker--which received its acclaimed premiere last season—in 11 performances December 13 through 26 at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. The production features nearly 100 performers, live music with Ballet San Jose Music Director George Daugherty conducting Symphony Silicon Valley, sets by Paul Kelly and costumes by Broadway legend Theoni V. Aldredge. Gabay's staging takes much of its inspiration from the traditional E.T.A. Hoffmann story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, but features subtle but decidedly feminist underpinnings and brims with bravura dancing and seasonal charm. Performances will be given Friday, December 13, at 7 pm; Saturday, December 14, at 1:30 and *7 pm; Sunday, December 15, at *1:30 pm; Friday, December 20, at *7 pm, Saturday, December 21, at 1:30 and 7 pm; Sunday, December 22, at 1:30 pm; Monday, December 23, at 1:30 pm; Tuesday, December 24, at *1:30 pm; and Thursday, December 26, 1:30 pm (*special Family-Priced tickets available.) Ballet San Jose Artistic Director Jose Manuel Carreño has announced updates to the Company's November 16 all-star gala. Members of Ballet San Jose and Ballet San Jose School will be joined on stage by an impressive lineup of guest artists for the benefit evening, beginning at 5 pm with cocktails and dinner, followed by an 8 pm performance and VIP post-performance party, all at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.
