Mulligan on 'My Fair Lady:' "Not happening this year"

Worst Previews is reporting that the upcoming remake of the 1964 classic My Fair Lady is still in the works, but 'hanging.' Despite recent confirmation from Sony execs that the project was still in play, reportedly with Carey Mulligan in the lead, Mulligan revealed at the Toronto Film Festival that 'I've definitely spoken about it, and I would love to do it if it happens, but it's just not happening right now...I read the script and the script is incredible. Emma Thompson wrote it. It's telling the story again, in another way and not trying to sort of copy anything and not trying to take away anything from that version of it. It's just telling it in a new era to a new generation of people.'

The Theater Department of Middlebury College has announced some of their upcoming events for the 2010-2011 season, including a unique discussion series which accompanies each of the featured shows. This season's events include Major Barbara, Hecuba, Eurydice and Victory.
Old Globe to Feature MUCH ADO, AMADEUS et al. in '11 Summer Season

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced The Old Globe's 2011 Summer Season. Adrian Noble will return as the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and direct Shakespeare's The Tempest and Peter Shaffer's Amadeus. Presented in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, the Festival will also include Much Ado About Nothing directed by Ron Daniels. The season also features Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein in the Old Globe Theatre. Preceding Bernstein is a 10-day limited engagement of Hershey Felder in George Gershwin Alone. The West Coast Premiere of John Morogiello's romantic comedy, Engaging Shaw, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre will complete the season.
South Coast Repertory Presents MISALLIANCE, 9/10-10/10

All the wrong men chase all the wrong women in Misalliance, an exuberant comedy from George Bernard Shaw that opens South Coast Repertory's 47th season. This witty classic, helmed by SCR Artistic Director Martin Benson, runs Sept. 10 through Oct. 10 on the Segerstrom Stage.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents the new Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession, starring Tony Award winner Cherry Jones as 'Kitty Warren' & Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as 'Vivie Warren,' directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast also features Adam Driver as 'Frank Gardner,' Mark Harelik as 'Sir George Crofts,' Edward Hibbert as 'Mr. Praed' and Michael Siberry as 'Reverend Samuel Gardner.'
