The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene just presented a remarkable concert event celebrating the folk legend and actor Theodore Bikel in anticipation of his 90th birthday in May 2014. 'Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza' filled the stage at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, last night, December 2 with one rare musical treat after another. Featured in the all-star cast were the beloved Emmy-winning actor Fyvush Finkel, klezmer giant Frank London, the Russian concert phenomenon Psoy Korolenko and the Broadway actors Joanne Borts ('Once') and Elmore James, among many others. Primary Stages held their annual Gala last night, November 11, at The Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street). The event honored Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang and President of the General Counsel at Dramatists Play Service, Stephen Sultan. The evening featured performances by Rachel deBenedet (Catch Me If You Can, Addams Family), Alan Paul (Grease, Oliver!, Manhattan Transfer), Michele Ragusa (Urinetown, Ragtime, A Class Act, Adrift in Macao), and Alton F. Los Angeles-based Grammy Award winning songwriter Mike Stoller and his wife, pianist, harpist and singer, Corky Hale Stoller, will appear as the inaugural guests kicking off a new "In Conversation" Speaker Series at the Museum at Eldridge Street; 12 Eldridge Street (between Canal and Division Streets); New York, NY 10022, on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The Series is part of an ongoing 125th Anniversary celebration of Jewish life and culture in the museum's landmark home, the 1887 Eldridge Street Synagogue.
