Bradley Cooper To Direct and Star in Upcoming Leonard Bernstein Biopic

Deadline has reported that Paramount Pictures and Amblin will co-finance Bernstein, a film about iconic composer Leonard Bernstein that Bradley Cooper will star in and direct. Cooper will also write the script with Josh Singer, who shared the Best Original Screenplay Oscar with Tom McCarthy for Spotlight. Cooper is producing with Fred Berner, Amy Durning, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Steven Spielbergand Martin Scorsese.
Amy Ryan, Michael Urie, Harriet Harris & More Set for PLAYING ON AIR at BRIC House

Playing on Air, a public radio show featuring recordings of select contemporary short American plays, returns to BRIC House for a new season of performances. Nine short plays by notable American playwrights (three per evening) will be recorded live at BRIC House, 647 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn on October 20, 27 and December 1 at 7:30pm.

Starz announced today that their 1950's Miami-based drama, 'Magic City' will return with an all new season on Friday, June 14th at 9pm ET/PT, one week following the finale of the Starz Original series 'Da Vinci's Demons' on Friday, June 7th. 'Magic City' has added another famous face to its all-star lineup. Season two of the critically acclaimed series will feature legendary rapper Rick Ross as 'Butterball,' the proprietor of an illegal Cuban/American gambling house in Miami known as a 'bolita,' (the numbers racket). There are numerous bolitas in the Miami area and not surprisingly, Ben 'the Butcher' Diamond (Golden Globe(R) nominee for Best Supporting Actor, Danny Huston) is getting a cut from the illicit operations.
