Whoopi Goldberg and SISTER ACT Cast to Make Appearance at Macy's Holiday Window Unveling, 11/17

On November 17, Macy's Herald Square will kick-off the season with a heavenly evening of holiday magic at the annual Christmas window unveiling on Broadway Boulevard. The event will feature an appearance by special guest, Whoopi Goldberg, along with the divine cast members of the hit Broadway musical, Sister Act, including Tony Award nominee, Patina Miller. The One-and-Only Santa Claus, will make an appearance and lead the countdown to flip the switch and unveil the 2011 Christmas Windows, this year titled 'Make-A-Wish'.
SISTER ACT to Take Part in 'Race to Deliver,' 11/20

The hit Broadway musical SISTER ACT is partnering with God's Love We Deliver by outfitting runners for their 18th annual Race To Deliver on Sunday, November 20th in Central Park. The first 500 participants to sign up will receive a special nun habit to be worn during the fundraising event. All runners who wear a habit will become eligible for the chance to win SISTER ACT prizes, including free tickets to the show.
SISTER ACT Announces School Challenge Initiative

The SISTER ACT School Challenge Initiative is offering the chance for one lucky class from grades 5 through 9 to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT on Broadway. Teachers are invited to share their class' acts of kindness by submitting a photo of their class giving back to their community, along with the story behind it, for the chance to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT. Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello will assume the role of Mother Superior in the Broadway musical SISTER ACT, beginning performances on Saturday, November 19 at 8:00pm. SISTER ACT is currently in its eighth smash month at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). Ms. Carmello takes over from Victoria Clark, who originated the role on Broadway and received a Tony Award nomination for her performance.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that San Diego's Old Globe Theatre will back a reading of the 1997 musical The Green Heart. The reading will feature a revised script and a slew of Broadway stars including: Emily Skinner, Jackie Hoffman, Fred Applegate. The event will be held August 8-12.

Unless the names 'Noel' and 'Coward' are involved, I tend to be a bit wary about musicals with the book, music, lyrics and direction all by the same person, but Willard Beckham makes a very entertaining go of it with his campy, country/western musical comedy, Lucky Guy.
