Carl Goodman, Executive Director of Museum of the Moving Image, today announced a seven-week extension for Jim Henson's Fantastic World, the Smithsonian traveling exhibition that explores the creative process of the world-renowned puppeteer, filmmaker, and television pioneer.

There are only three performances remaining to catch the original cast of FREUD'S LAST SESSION before they head to Chicago to star in the Midwest premiere of Mark St. Germain's smash hit play. Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner opened in the Off-Broadway production of FREUD'S LAST SESSION on July 22, 2010 to rave reviews, immediately becoming a sellout sensation and winning the 2011 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play. Dold and Rayner will depart for Chicago after Thursday's performance and George Morfogen and Jim Stanek will assume the roles of Sigmund Freud and C. S. Lewis respectively this Friday, March 16th at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). The Chicago production is set to begin performances March 21st at the Mercury Theater.

New York's smash hit play FREUD'S LAST SESSION is set to open tomorrow night, March 9th at 8 PM at Pittsburgh Public Theater.

Jim Henson's Fantastic World will be on view at Museum of the Moving Image for only one more week-closing on Sunday, March 4. The final weekend of the show, Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, 2012, features several special programs to mark the close of the successful national tour of this Smithsonian traveling exhibition, organized in partnership with The Jim Henson Legacy. On these two days, the Museum will give away a free limited-edition commemorative bookmark to ALL visitors (while supplies last).

FREUD'S LAST SESSION is opening yet another major U.S. production, with performances beginning at Pittsburgh Public Theater this Thursday, March 1st. The official opening night is March 9th and the limited engagement is set to run through April 1st. Under the direction of Mary B. Robinson, the Pittsburgh debut of FREUD'S LAST SESSION will star Jonathan Crombie as C. S. Lewis and David Wohl as Sigmund Freud. Winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play, FREUD'S LAST SESSION is currently in its second smash year at NYC's New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), starring Mark H.
