Gerard Alessandrini and the cast of the acclaimed Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING just performed selections from the recently released cast recording, Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING, The UN-Original Cast Album at the Drama Book Shop (250 W 40th Street) yesterday, December 11th. After a three-year absence, Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway returns to the 47th Street Theatre with a brand new edition, Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING. The show, which opens Thursday, September 6, will run for a limited engagement through January 6, 2013. Previews begin tomorrow, July 24th. This production will mark Forbidden Broadway's 30th Anniversary, as well as its 21st edition. Check out photos of the cast below!

From Gerard Alessandrini, the creator of the Tony-Award-Winning Forbidden Broadway, and Robert Hetzel, comes an over-the-top new musical: Madame X, a melodramatic yet comic take on the Douglas Sirk films of the 1950s, and the ever-durable genre of the altruistic, self-sacrificing mother. The show, which will be presented concert-style, stars Forbidden Broadway veterans Donna English as Madame X (Ruthless!, Lend Me a Tenor) Janet Dickenson (The Grinch, Nine to Five) Edward Staudenmayer (Frank Wildhorn's Alice in Wonderland, Spamalot), Michael West (Newsical), plus Bill Coyne, Sean Bell, and Mike Longo with Musical Direction by David Caldwell and Richard Danley.

David West in Association with John Freedson will present MADAME X with book, music and lyrics Geard Alessandrini & Robert Hetzel and directed by Mr. Alessandrini at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

On Monday, November 23 at 9:30 pm, Jim Caruso's Cast Party the weekly event held at Birdland, 315 West 44th Street (bet 8th & 9th Ave) will open with a special celebration / book release party for 'Forbidden Broadway: Behind the Mylar Curtain'. Creator Gerard Alessandrini will be performing along with Nora Mae Lyng, the show's other original cast member; as well as some of FB stalwarts Michael West, Christina Bianco, and Gina Kreiezmar, with longtime pianist David Caldwell.
