The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, will welcome esteemed French actor and comedian Sami Frey in Samuel Beckett's acclaimed work, Premier Amour. On April 9 and 10, Frey will inhabit Beckett's poetry and wit for two nights only of special performances.

In a revelatory two-night showcase this spring, REDCAT celebrates the long-lasting legacy of French iconoclast, Gérard Grisey. Performed by CalArts New Century Players and the CalArts Orcheastra under the direction of Mark Menzies, Les Espaces Acoustiques and Beyond: New Music after Grisey is presented on Friday April 30, 2010 and May 1, 2010 at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater. Curtain for the performances is 8:30pm.

After a successful nine week run at Florida Studio Theatre, Shear Madness will close on Sunday, April 18, 2010. Shear Madness opened to audiences raving on February 18, 2010. 'That was hysterical,' 'That was tremendous fun,' and 'Dynamite' are a few of the exiting comments. The critics have agreed 'Crazy fun,' reviewed the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, 'Great fun,' remarked Sarasota Magazine and 'Howling with Laughter,' exclaimed the Pelican Press. New York City Opera will celebrate the opening of its 2010 Spring Season on Thursday, March 18, with a gala performance of Emmanuel Chabrier's glittering, comic L'Étoile, followed by a grand evening on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater and dancing to waltzes played by the New York City Opera Orchestra.

The Hartt School presents the Lions Gate Trio on Saturday, February 27, at 7:30PM in Berkman Recital Hall on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Lions Gate Trio includes violinist Katie Lansdale, pianist Florence Millet, and cellist Marcy Rosen.
