Cynthia Shaw enjoyed her Colorado childhood of piano lessons and music-making. But as time went on she developed bigger dreams: moving to New York to attend the esteemed Manhattan School of Music. However, this goal was a bit more difficult than she expected. As she struggles with her self-sabotaging demons, shaky memorization and insufficient technique, she masters a falling piano, a sweltering practice room, a music-hating neighbor, a condescending teacher and other obstacles that confront an innocent, young classical pianist who has decided to tackle the Big Apple! And the big question is, does she get in?

Ageless Wonders: A Grown up kids Guide to Growing Newer: is a triumphant one woman performance designed to enlighten people on aging in modern times under the direction of Best National Solo Artist Jessica Lynn Johnson. This musical/dramedy promises to shed light on the benefits of entering the club of senior wonderhood. This one-hour play promises to evoke some tears, guarantee smiles and even laughter. The show has a catchy original score written by Roland Mousaa, Grammy Winner & Mindy Fradkin, both of whom had the privilege of working and befriending the late great Pete Seeger, folk icon/activist.

BBC America Announces Cast Additions for Season Two of KILLING EVE

BBC AMERICA announced today three new additions to the cast of its buzzy, hit drama Killing Eve which returns for the second season in Spring 2019.  Nina Sosanya (Good Omens) and Edward Bluemel (A Discovery of Witches) join series stars Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy), Jodie Comer (The White Princess) and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter).  Julian Barratt (Mindhorn) will guest star. The series, produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd and based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings, is currently shooting in Europe.

This class, "Trusting the Text," investigates the ways in which the actor can mine, analyze, and explore the text to find a variety of personal resonance and character journeys.

Due to popular demand, United Solo brings back Austin Pendleton to teach in the Master Class Series on May 31, 2018 at Theatre Row in New York City. This class provides participants with the opportunity to meet, work, and be discovered by one of the most influential theatre directors. Austin Pendleton will spend time working with the participants on scenes and monologues. He will offer his critique and thoughts on participants' work, gradually trying to reach a wider evaluation of the strengths and potential of each actor. Participants are expected to bring a scene from material they are currently working on. All ages and levels of theatrical experience encouraged. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. United Solo Announces Its Selections For 9th Season

The world's largest solo theatre festival announced its 2018 selections, which include over 120 productions from all over the world. These productions represent various forms of theatre, dance, and performance art, and will be presented at Theatre Row. The 42nd Street venue has been home for United Solo since 2010. The festival is a resident company at Theatre Row, where it has presented nearly 1,000 productions from six continents over the past eight years.

En Garde Arts presents Asiimwe Deborah Kawe and Sean Christopher Lewis's Red Hills, returning the company to its trailblazing site-specific origins with a work that speaks "precisely to its time" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). This haunting two-person play follows an American and a Rwandan who, as teens during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, shared a chance encounter that changed them forever. En Garde, with director Katie Pearl, has adapted Red Hills to a New York-specific space: an empty floor in a downtown office building one block from Wall Street, where it will run from June 6-July 1.
