RoosevElvis ('Rose-of-Elvis') tells the story of Ann, a thirty-five year old meat-processing plant worker living in Rapid City, South Dakota. Painfully shy, Ann has recently begun to inhabit the character of Elvis Presley in the privacy of her home. In his skin, she begins to find the courage to open herself to the world. She meets and sleeps with Brenda, a woman whose online dating profile lists taxidermy and Teddy Roosevelt among her interests. The two take a weekend camping trip to the Badlands, but it doesn't go well. Frustrated by Ann's passivity about her own life, Brenda leaves, prodding Ann to do something, like like get in a car and drive to her hero's house in Memphis. Ann begins a hallucinatory drive south, accompanied by the increasingly present and invasive spirits of Presley and Roosevelt (played by the actresses). As Graceland comes even closer, these two icons of American masculinity battle for what type of man or woman Ann should become. Set against the boundless blue skies of the Great Plains and endless American highway, RoosevElvis is a new work about gender, appetite, and the multitudes we contain.

On December 4, 1956, four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what has been called one of the greatest jam sessions ever. The national tour of the Tony Award winning MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, running now through October 6 at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center, brings that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock hits including 'Blue Suede Shoes,' 'Fever,' 'That's All Right,' 'Sixteen Tons,' 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Walk the Line,' 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On,' 'Who Do You Love?,' 'Matchbox,' 'Folsom Prison Blues,' 'Hound Dog' and more.

The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will make its THOUSAND OAKS premiere Nov. 5-10 at the THOUSAND OAKS CIVIC ARTS PLAZA as part of the BROADWAY IN THOUSAND OAKS SERIES.

The Twin Cities' premiere concert event, featured one-time only this year, plays on The Fireside stage for a three-night engagement tonight, September 26, Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28.

Legendary artist Elton John returns to the stage in a concert that includes his greatest hits as well as songs from his new album, Diving Board. Nationally prominent performers with Illinois roots will kick off the March on Springfield for Marriage Equality on Tuesday, Oct. 22 with a free one-hour concert live near the steps of the Illinois State Capitol. The diverse entertainment bill includes reality TV stars from 'The Voice,' 'American Idol,' and 'America's Got Talent;' a national poetry slam winner; a world champion & MVP quarterback who is also a pre-Grammy nominee; and a 2013 Trans 100 honoree fighting violence against transgender people.

Gordon Lightfoot, the legendary Canadian baritone known for such enduring hits as 'Sundown' and 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,' brings his tour to the Morrison Center at 8:00 p.m. tonight, September 25, 2013. With his extensive musical career, Lightfoot was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. Tickets go on sale at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2013.

'American Idol' winner and Paris Las Vegas headliner Taylor Hicks will take the stage with the smash-hit musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET tonight, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Harrah's Las Vegas Showroom. Hicks will perform alongside the cast for a special encore during the show's finale.

For the first time in over fifty years, Harbinger Records will release 'Ballads for the Age of Science,' the most successful educational recordings of all time, as a six-CD box set. Featuring more than four dozen original songs written by Hy Zaret, co-author of the iconic popular song 'Unchained Melody,' and Lou Singer between 1959 and 1961, the albums introduced scientific concepts and terms using catchy, easy-to-learn lyrics and music to grade school students across America in the early 1960s.

"The King," or rather four male performers onstage paying homage to Elvis Presley through the four periods of his fabulous career, will appear at Harris Center/Three Stages as part of a 60 city tour. "The show has historical, nostalgic and emotional qualities. People are surprised. It takes them on a journey" (The Advocate).
