Celebrating congregational singing and a cappella music in Christian worship, The Ascending Voice IV features three main evening concerts: Cerulean- Voices Extraordinary on Thursday, May 12 directed by Ryan Board; the grand Ascending Voice Festival Choir concert on Friday, May 13 directed by world renowned choral scholar Simon Carrington; and Grammy Award-winning sensation Take 6 on Saturday, May 14.

Last night Mercedes Ellington granddaughter of Duke Ellington and president and founder of The Duke Ellington Center For The Arts along with co-producer Judi Marks hosted a Triple Threat musical celebration at the legendary Friars Club.  It was a special evening that featured performances of the music of the three giants of Jazz and BroadwayWorld was there.

Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin is pleased to announce that MetroStage will present the award-winning play BLACK PEARL SINGS! by Frank Higgins April 21-May 29, 2016. Sandra L. Holloway will direct and William Hubbard will music direct this production.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission today announced the return of culturally diverse outdoor entertainment at the Ford Theatres, following nearly two years of renovations of the historic John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and its public amenities and landscape. The 2016 Summer Season, performed under the stars in the Hollywood Hills, opens on July 8 and runs through October 15. A full schedule is attached. At a time when popular songs came and went with alacrity, jazz artists meeting for improvisational jam sessions needed pieces they all knew. Thus jazz mined popular music creating an intersection of the two art forms. Aided and abetted by four very different featured guests, Feinstein illuminates by example, not narrative.

With its continuing success both nationwide and here in Chicago, the smash hit Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin is extending its return to the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St. Chicago, until Sunday, May 22, 2016. The Chicago presentation will immediately be followed by a special One-Night-Only New York Presentation at The Town Hall on June 6, 2016, broadcast internationally by the WFMT Radio Network with the entire Berlin family in attendance.
