Shannon Murdoch, an Australian playwright, has won the 2011 Yale Drama Series competition for her play New Light Shine, a work about four small-town lives linked through a violent crime and their hopeless attempts to erase the past and build new lives.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced Katori Hall as the winner of its prestigious playwriting award, now celebrating its thirty-third year. The Houston-based Prize received the 2010 Theatre Communications Group's National Funder Award. The annual honor goes to a company, foundation or other entity for 'leadership and sustained national support of theater in America.

Last night, February 14, NAKED ANGELS celebrated its 25th anniversary as one of the most innovative theatre companies in New York with a spectacular Gala, including cocktails, an elegant dinner and skits written and performed by Naked Angels company members. Company Members Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick served as Honorary Co-Chairs for the evening, with entertainment directed by Tony Award-winning Company Member Joe Mantello.

The Bickford Theatre, 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, NJ, opened its New Jersey Premiere production of The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane on Friday, January 21.

Edie Falco, whose credits include a multitude of both stage and film projects, is currently starring in the Showtime series 'Nurse Jackie', which is in its third season. 'Nurse Jackie' also features other theater stars, including Anna Deavere Smith, Eve Best, and Dominic Fumusa.
