Stephen Colbert is too antsy to wait for his new gig as host of CBS's THE LATE SHOW to begin this September, so he traveled to Monroe, Michigan, to serve as guest host of a local public access cable show

New LATE SHOW host Stephen Colbert shared a video of himself doing 20 pushups in response to a challenge from fellow talk show host John Oliver.

The Jewish Museum's 2015 slate of lectures, discussions, and events continues in July with a concert featuring violinist Todd Reynolds, part of the Museum's partnership with Bang on a Can; a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the exhibition, Repetition and Difference, with curators Susan L. Braunstein and Daniel S. Palmer; and Alexander Tochilovsky of Cooper Union discussing graphic design-related materials in the exhibition, Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television. In addition, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Cooper Union are co-presenting programs related to Revolution of the Eye.

Trustus Theatre is bringing the hit musical Dreamgirls to the Thigpen Main Stage this summer. Winner of over a dozen prestigious awards, this show tells the dramatic story of a singing group that makes it big while changing the face and sound of popular music in the 1960s. Dreamgirls opens on the Thigpen Main Stage tonight, June 26th at 8:00pm.

?New Yorkers will be dancing in the streets this summer when Broadway, regional and Las Vegas star, Andrea Bell Wolff, brings her show "Bad Girls Do Cry" to Iridium on August 30th at 7pm. The music and comedy performance featuring the diminutive performer with giant-size talent is dedicated to the sounds of 1960s girl groups. 

As 2015 continues to unfold Robert Miller, leader, bassist and composer for Project Grand Slam (PGS) have exciting plans in the works.  First up is the July 10single release of New York City Groove featuring the robust pipes of 2013 The Voice semi-finalist Kat Robichaud.  “This song was created as a kind of love letter to my NYC home, with a true NYC vibe.” says Miller

Monica Lewis, a former Benny Goodman vocalist who headlined the very first broadcast of the 'Ed Sullivan Show,' was THE VOICE of the popular Chiquita BANANA cartoons, clowned opposite Jerry Lewis, Red Skelton and Danny Kaye, turned down a marriage proposal from Ronald Reagan and went on to play co-starring roles in such films as 'Earthquake,' 'Airport 1975' and 'The Concorde--Airport '79,' died on June 12 of natural causes at her apartment in Woodland Hills, CA. She was 93.

Will Friedwald's "Clip Joint" -- the innovative live video mixtape experience -- will return on Thursday, June 11 at 8:00 PM with guest curator Dan Fortune (publicist, DJ, producer). The event will take place at Zebulon Sound and Light (223 West 28th Street, 2nd Floor).

The Jewish Museum is presenting a fun-filled drop-in art workshop for families every Monday in July, inspired by works on view in its current slate of exhibitions. These workshops are FREE with museum admission.

It's still a few months from the premiere of CBS's LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, but that didn't keep the funny man from trying out a new theme song for his late night show.
