Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten has announced a series of special events that will enhance the previously announced 2012 summer season. Additions to the Festival's 58th season include one-night-only stand-up comedy performances from Lewis Black tonight, July 9th and Susie Essman (who will also appear in the Nikos Stage production of Last of the Red Hot Lovers) on July 23rd. Also added to the schedule is a reading of Dustin Lance Black's political docudrama 8, presented in partnership with Broadway Impact as a benefit for the American Foundation for Equal Rights. The Festival's popular Late-Night Cabaret Series returns, featuring Festival stars in rarely seen performances.

On Friday, July 27, All Out Arts will present a reading of '8' by Dustin Lance Black, as a part of its Fresh Fruit Festival. Directed by Brian Maschka, the cast features Jenn Colella, Rick Elice, Mark Fisher, Patrick Hustad, Dan Lauria, Susan O'Connor, Karen Oster, Destan Owens, Roger Rees, Al Sapienza, and David Turner.

Tonight, June 12, 2012 at 9:00pm, (with repeat airings every night for 2 weeks beginning at 1am), the only PBS station still originating from Los Angeles (KLCS-TV) will host its first ever pledge drive in 40 years. Recognizing that the Los Angeles community deserves a special event around something this important, the station is proud to announce they will air the world television premier of the acclaimed film 'Hollywood to Dollywood'. Theatre Works (LATW) has recorded "8," a dramatization of the legal fight against California's Proposition 8 written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) founding board member Dustin Lance Black, for release on audiobook and for broadcast on LATW's nationally syndicated radio theater series. Directed by Rob Reiner and featuring an all-star cast that includes Kevin Bacon, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christine Lahti, Jane Lynch, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen and John C. Reilly, "8" will air on public radio stations across the U.S. this week, beginning June 9.
