Regional Premiere of Lopez's REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES to Open in August

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre 2016-2017, 37th season launches with the regional premiere of Josefina Lopez's newly updated award-winning comedy Real Women Have Curves. DMT is tremendously excited to be presenting the regional premiere of Ms. Lopez's updated version, which first premiered at the Mission Cultural Center over 25 years ago in a production by El Teatro de la Esperanza.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD to Open 4/30 at Berkeley Playhouse

Berkeley Playhouse will produce the first non-musical in its nine-year history with Christopher Sergel's adaptation of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. The show will be directed by Berkeley Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director Daren A.C. Carollo (Berkeley Playhouse's Peter Pan, Hairspray; Broadway: A Time to Kill; Off-Broadway: bare The Musical; Regional: Diablo Theatre Company, City Lights Theatre Company, Napa Valley Opera House, Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre, Town Hall Theatre Company). Previews begin April 28. The show runs from April 30 to May 22 at the Julia Morgan Theater, 2640 College Ave in Berkeley, CA. Tickets are now available through the box office. Contra Costa Civic Theatre to Present THE MOUNTAINTOP,4 4/15-5/8

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) continues its 56th season with The Mountaintop, Katori Hall's daring reimagining of a seminal event in American history, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn. The Mountaintop plays from April 15 through May 8- performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm at the theatre.

Morrisson Theatre Chorus Performs Holiday Concert This Weekend

The Morrisson Theatre Chorus, under the musical direction of Cesar Cancino, will present its Holiday Concert: Special Songs for a Special Time of the Year this weekend, December 10, December 11 and December 12 at 8:00pm and December 13 at 2:00pm. The Holiday Concert will feature a selection of Classical Sacred works, Popular Holiday songs, Jazz and Gospel, as well as audience sing-a-long pieces.

NCTC to Present World Premiere of SAGITTARIUS PONDEROSA

In January, NCTC is proud to present the world premiere of a whimsical and powerful new play, Sagittarius Ponderosa by MJ Kaufman, directed by Ben Randle. Winner of the 2014 Global Age Project at Aurora Theatre Company and featured on The 2015 Kilroy List of the most recommended new plays by female and trans* writers, the play introduces us to Archer (still Angela to his family), who makes the journey back home to the forests of Eastern Oregon. His journey back proves to be just the beginning when he meets a handsome stranger at night under the oldest Ponderosa Pine. What follows illuminates the transitions of life and death, the comings and goings of love, and the mysteries of the human heart.
