Bay Area Children's Theatre Presents Roald Dahl's WILLY WONKA For Young Audiences


Bay Area Children's Theatre (BACT) is celebrating the holidays with a musical treat for the whole family, a version of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka specially written for young audiences, based on Dahl's timeless book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and featuring the catchy tunes from the original Gene Wilder movie.

Marin Center presents BEST OF SAN FRANCISCO SOLO SERIES Beginning 10/8


Marin Center and the Marin Cultural Association, in partnership with Brian Copeland, are thrilled to present The Best of San Francisco Solo Series. For the first time ever in Marin County, Brian Copeland will present FIVE of the Bay Area's most critically-acclaimed, award-winning, and beloved solo shows for an exclusive run at Marin Center. 16th St Players & Masquers Playhouse Premiere BACKSTAGE STORIES


Theatre veteran John Hull draws on his love of theater for a suite of one-act comedies set in the world behind the curtain.  Backstage Stories is a co-production of San Francisco's 16th St. Players and The Masquers Playhouse of Point Richmond. It is directed by Katina Letheule.  Backstage Stories runs for three consecutive weekends, October 27-November 12, at the Mission Dolores Academy Auditorium, 3371-16th Street (between Dolores & Church) in San Francisco.

The Mountain Play presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST


The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

VIGNETTES ON LOVE- A Bold New Multi-Media Play Opens 7/6-30, 2017

PlayGround, the Bay Area's leading playwright incubator, has joined forces with San Francisco music festival promoter Noise Pop and entrepreneur David Steele to launch a July 6-30 run of the bold new multi-media play, VIGNETTES ON LOVE, based on original writings by David Steele, with the play co-written by Steele, Victoria Chong Der and Davern Wright.

NCTC Presents World Premiere of JC Lee's WARPLAY


In June, New Conservatory Theatre Center closes its 35th Anniversary celebration and 2016-17 Season with the world premiere of warplay by JC Lee (Luce at Lincoln Center Theater, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder), directed by NCTC Artistic Associate Ben Randle. Inspired by Homer's The Iliad and the epic tale of Achilles and Patroclus, warplay is a shockingly funny, poetic and radical reimagining of one of the oldest love stories in all of Western literature. Two young men. A battle rages in the distance. Game on.
