NY4OK: A one night only, star-studded benefit concert to raise funds for the public school arts programs devastated by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma will take place on June 17th at 9:30pm at le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street). Stars of Broadway, Film, TV, and Popular Music will bring New York together in a night of live music with a silent auction and raffle prizes. All proceeds will go to rebuilding the Oklahoma school arts programs devastated by the May tornadoes.

Ghostlight Records will release the Original Cast Recording of the acclaimed epic musical GIANTonline and in stores on May 21, 2013. Performance rights for GIANT will be licensed through R&H Theatricals, a division of Rodgers & Hammerstein, an Imagem Company. Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia. According to the Miami Herald's theater critic Christine Dolen, Broadway actress Janet Dacal flew out to Florida to star last-minute in Actors' Playhouse's production of In the Heights after the lead Sarah Amengual was taken ill.

It seems an obvious choice for Miami to produce one of the first regional productions of In The Heights, a musical centered around Latin culture in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Theatre is meant to be relatable and hold up a mirror to its audience and, after feeling the electricity on opening night, the line between actor and audience was barely discernable.

Viva Broadway, an initiative of the Broadway League, in collaboration with 5000 Broadway Productions and the United Palace of Cultural Arts presents In The Heights: In Concert, a special, one-night only benefit concert at the United Palace of Cultural Arts in Washington Heights tonight, February 11th at 8pm.

R.Evolución Latina (RL), the arts based nonprofit organization founded by Luis Salgado continues to follow the philosophy of 'Daring to Go Beyond' by taking it's Beyond Workshop Series (BWS) to Lima, Peru and uniting the local community through the arts.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three staged readings of "Casanova", a new musical with music by Martin Sylvestri, book and lyrics by Joel Higgins, directed by Gabriel Barre. The readings will take place on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00pm, and Thursday, February 7th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.

Joining composer-lyricist and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda on stage will be original Broadway cast members Christopher Jackson, Karen Olivo, Olga Merediz, Robin De Jesus, Mandy Gonzalez, Andrea Burns, Seth Stewart, Janet Dacal, and Eliseo Roman. The Public Theater's acclaimed epic musical Giant closes today, December 16, after playing an additional two weeks. With book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and directed by Michael Greif, Giant officially opened on Thursday, November 15 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 2.
