2017 Frigid Festival presents ROTTEN APPLE: ESCAPE TO LA?
by A.A. Cristi
- Jan 31, 2017
Amanda and Matthew love New York City! But NYC loves no one! Subway people cough into your ear, snowdrifts are mostly trash, and for every rat you see there are 20 you don't. Across the country, sunny Los Angeles beckons. Can our comedy heroes resist the siren song? Will they give up all they have fought for in the Big Apple? Will they escape to LA? http://rottenappleshow.com

by Karen Bovard
- Jan 31, 2017
FLOWER DRUM SONG is a hard show to mount. It requires credible brief performances in the style of Beijing Opera, multiple large production numbers in a variety of nightclub styles, plus a large cast of Asian American characters who can sing, dance, and act.

Dance Mission Theatre transforms into a time machine in SATIN & SWING
by Julie Musbach
- Jan 29, 2017
SOULSKIN Dance is proud to present a brand new work SATIN & SWING as part of their 4th Season in San Francisco. Artistic Director and Choreographer Adrianna Thompson seeks to engage audiences in a study of two eras, the 1920s and the present. Dance Mission Theatre transforms into a time machine, transporting us back to the 1920s. Glitz and glam sparkle from the dingy corners of a speakeasy. Raucous jazz blares, bringing bejeweled and sequined dancing flapper girls to life. An evening of indulgence has begun. The entry notes of Prince's 'Erotic City' ring in your ears, an echo from another time. Suddenly you notice the writing on the wall. The crash of overindulgence is imminent.
