Happy New Year, BroadwayWorld! As we eagerly anticipate the amazing musicals and plays coming up in 2016, we're taking a moment to look back at the significant Broadway closings of 2015.

Just confirmed today, Broadway is coming to the Blue Ridge! Broadway royalty Terrence Mann (star of Broadway's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, LES MISERABLES, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, CATS, and next season's TUCK EVERLASTING) and Charlotte d'Amboise (star of Broadway's PIPPIN, CHICAGO, SWEET CHARITY, A CHORUS LINE and CONTACT) are coming to Lynchburg, VA, February 1-2, 2016.

Experience the thrilling 2013 Tony Award-winning musical PIPPIN - described as 'An eye-popping, jaw-dropping, VISUALLY STUNNING extravaganza. THE THRILL OF THE SEASON!' by NY1. PIPPIN will have a limited engagement at Sacramento Community Center Theater from Dec. 29 - Jan. 3. The cast includes Gabrielle McClinton as Leading Player; Brian Flores as Pippin; John Rubinstein, who played the role of Pippin in the original Bob Fosse-directed Broadway production, as Charles; Sabrina Harper as Berthe; Bradley Benjamin as Catherine; and Kate Wesler as Fastrada.

Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, co-creators of Broadway's award-winning new musical, "Invisible Thread" (formerly "Witness Uganda") return to The Eccles Center on January 9. The powerful evening - part concert, part theater, part call to action - intertwines heart-thumping Afro-pop sounds and heart-wrenching stories. New dates have been announced for Emmy-winner and Tony-nominee Kelsey Grammer's return to the hit Broadway musical FINDING NEVERLAND.

During the appearance it was revealed that Morrison's co-star, Emmy-winner and Tony-nominee Kelsey Grammer will return to the production earlier than originally announced in order for the actors to overlap for a short period of time.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, is pleased to present the new American play Nice Fish, conceived, written, and adapted by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins, and directed by Claire van Kampen.

Tony winner Jessie Mueller is gearing up for her next Broadway role in Waitress, which opens on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). Waitress played a sold out limited engagement at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary August 12 - 28, 2016. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications for 2016 are currently being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.).

The gathering of strangers to enjoy a communal experience is celebrated with the musical's second act rouser.
