NYC's Barefoot Theatre Company will present THE 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT, a worldwide, year-long celebration of the 70th birthday of internationally-acclaimed playwright ISRAEL HOROVITZ. Barefoot will lead over 50 theatre companies from around the globe including France, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Scotland, Australia, England, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Japan, Korea & the United States, performing readings, staged readings & fully staged productions of 70 of Horovitz's plays. THE 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT will begin with a gala & a reading of Sins of the Mother (directed by Jo Bonney) at the Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street on Israel's birthday, March 31, 2009 & will continue throughout the following year, ending on March 31, 2010. The evening will be hosted by Barefoot Theatre Company Advisory Board Member, Pierre Dulaine. The entire Barefoot Theatre Company will be present at the event to greet all guests, along with the Horovitz family.

The New Conservatory Theatre Center is pleased to offer a unique opportunity to experience this phenomenal artist/teacher in person, as he works to pass along his priceless experience and his own insights to a new generation of artists. For the benefit of all in attendance, Franc D?Ambrosio will work specifically with four pre-selected singers from the NCTC community. As he assists them in connecting their voices to the heart of a song, we can all learn. It will be an inspiring evening of beautiful songs, insights and artistic breakthroughs. ABOUT FRANC: Franc D?Ambrosio?s Broadway debut was in the first revival of 'Sweeney Todd' but he is best known for his run as the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber?s ?The Phantom of the Opera?. Recording and stage star Sam Harris has revealed via his 'vlog' that he has joined the workshop for the upcoming musical version of the hit film THE FIRST WIVES CLUB. he'll be playing a new character not found in the movie, he begins rehearsals this week in NYC for the reading. He also hinted that after the Old Globe run of the musical the production team was aiming for an October 2009 bow on Broadway. Sam Harris first shot into the public eye as the 'Star Search' icon and has found success as a Tony-nominated Broadway star for THE LIFE and also as an acclaimed replacement in THE PRODUCERS, a multi-million selling recording artist, a concert touring sell-out in venues all over the country including Carnegie Hall and on television in last years CBS series, 'The Class,' where he was touted by Liz Smith as 'the comedy breakout character of the television season.' Based on the best-selling novel and Hollywood blockbuster of the same name, FIRST WIVES CLUB features music & lyrics by the famous songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland and a book by Tony winner Rupert Holmes (Curtains!, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Say Goodnight Gracie). New Cast Members Ireland and Pasquale Join Perabo and Sadoski in 'reasons to be pretty'

It was announced today that Marin Ireland, Steven Pasquale, Piper Perabo and Thomas Sadoski will comprise the four-person cast of this season's production of Neil LaBute's new play, reasons to be pretty, under the direction of Terry Kinney. Perabo and Sadoski appeared in this summer's smash Off Broadway world premiere for MCC Theater, with Ireland and Pasquale slated to join the cast for the Broadway production.
