The last time Jane Kaczmarek acted on the Los Angeles stage, she transformed into the morphine-addicted Mary Tyrone in Eugene O'Neill's LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT at the Geffen Playhouse. Jane returns to the L.A. boards, this time in the traditionally-male role of Stage Manager in Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, just opened at The Pasadena Playhouse, in a co-production with Deaf West Theatre.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theatre of California and Deaf West Theatre, the performing arts organization behind the Tony Award-winning and Ovation Award-winning revival of Spring Awakening, present a new production of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN. Directed by Tony Award-nominated Sheryl Kaller (Broadway's Next Fall, Mothers and Sons), this groundbreaking new co-production by Pasadena Playhouse and Deaf West Theatre is being performed in both American Sign Language and spoken English through October 22, 2017. Tony Award-winning Producer Ken Davenport (Once On This Island, Getting The Band Back Together) has announced the first-ever Producer's Perspective Super Conference will be held November 11th and 12th in New York City at The Mainstage Theater, 416 West 42nd St.

OUR TOWN is Wilder's most well-known work, a classic of the American theatre that presents the cyclical nature of life in three acts and a town called Grover's Corners, where birth, death, love, and marriage, are shown in their most mundane glory. The brilliant simplicity of the work cannot be overstated.

Today we celebrate the breathtaking Deaf West revival of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's adolescent rock musical, Spring Awakening, which opened on Broadway on this day in 2015.

Now according to the New York Post, producers have their eyes on the show for Broadway. Michael Riedel writes that Hal Luftig is waiting to confirm a theatre for a spring 2018 transfer.

The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre presents Frederick Knott's 'Dial 'M' for Murder' directed by Bruce Kimmel, produced by Mannette Antill for the Group Rep.  In this mystery thriller play that inspired Hitchcock's suspense classic, a cunning man marries a wealthy woman for her money and plans to murder her to get her fortune. He devises a perfect murder, blackmails a criminal and arranges a brilliant alibi. To say more about a twisty and surprising thriller simply wouldn't be sporting, would it?

Children of a Lesser God runs from June 22 through July 22 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage in Stockbridge, MA. Opening night is set for Saturday, June 24 at 8pm.
