Prospect Theater Company (Melissa Huber, Managing Director / Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director) is pleased to announce casting for its final 2016 IGNITE Series event on Friday, December 16th at 8pm at the TimesCenter (242 West 41st Street). The evening will feature a a special concert presentation of the musical Striking 12, with book, music, and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Val Vigoda.

The producers of Indecent - Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's newest work, one of the most acclaimed plays of 2016 when it debuted in New York Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre following productions at Yale Repertory Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse - have announced that the production will begin performances on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 W 48th St New York, NY), on April 4, prior to its official opening night on April 18.

Michael Arden, who brilliantly re-imagined The Wallis and Deaf West Theatre's production of Spring Awakening that received rave reviews on Broadway, directs this rarely staged Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story) musical. Merrily We Roll Along travels backwards in time to navigate the bumpy history among three friends - Franklin, Charlie and Mary - who begin their in careers in show business together. The powerful and moving story, based on the Kaufman and Hart play, features some of Sondheim's most beautiful songs including 'Good Thing Going,' 'Our Time' and 'Not a Day Goes By'.

BWW Review: Musical HUNCHBACK On Top of the World at La Mirada

Victor Hugo's monumental romantic/gothic novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, published in 1831, centers in, around and on top of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. So does the new musical of the same name written by Peter Parnell, Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken, which received its U.S. premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2014 and is currently receiving its Los Angeles premiere at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. Stephen Gifford's set replete with stained glass windows, balcony and overhanging bells is scaled down from the original but still impressive and pulls you in effectively to another world, the ethereal realm of a higher power. Catholic boy that I am, every kyrie eleison exuded by the resounding chorus moved me to tears.
